TRG Customer Solutions according to the automated voice that answered after pressing 1. Some marketing company. They give you the option to remove your number from their list by entering your 10-digit number.

Hey Guys, you can call this number: 202-289-9898 from Skype or Gmail or something (so you don't get charged long distance) and give them your number and they will take you off the list.

I received a call November 3, 2010 at 5:38 p.m. (Mountain Time) from 1-866- 599-2266 (reverse lookup indicates this number is from Tennessee) from a representative of "TRG Group on behalf of TD Canada Trust". The caller knew my full name and that I had a TD Canada Trust VISA. She was "promoting" a $19.99 "monitoring" service that monitors credit card activity and alerts the cardholder of any suspicious or fraudulent activity. In addition, as part of this "service", TRG sends the cardholder his or her Equifax credit report at three-month intervals to allow him or her to monitor his or her credit rating and note any activities that may be indicative of identity theft.

I told the caller I believe I have a similar service already and was not interested. I did not provide any personal or credit card information. The caller thanked me for my time and informed me that "TD Canada Trust and TD Visa appreciate my business".

Skeptical, I contacted TD directly to ask whether there is any affiliation with "TRG Group." Apparently, there is not. TD offers a similar credit protection service, but the only company authorized to do this is Credit Link -- and the monthly charge is $12, not $19.99.

This would appear to be a telemarketing scam. It is unclear to me, particularly since I am on the national Do Not Call list, how this caller knew not only my first and last name, but also that I have a TD Visa. Scary!

this number phoned me twice a day for couple of days, very annoying.

I had exactly the same call (with the same details you posted) a few days ago and unfortunately, fell for it. Unfamiliar with these things, I did not even copy down the phone number or remember when I got the call! I provided my DOB, email and my consent (I had to say "yes" clearly).

Now I'm very worried what my information might be used for.. I am unsure of what to do..

I once worked for the TD Bank when it started telemarketing in 1995 - we sold a program to ensure Visa cardholders balances against unemployment consequences. The Bank will always deny culpability, these deals are extremely profitable for the bank - after telemarketing expenses - all of the money goes straight to the bottom line it is 'pure profit'. It is a valueless ripoff don't do it don't do it ...for any reason you may think of.

For the past month I've been getting calls from this number. I ignore, ignore, ignore and thank goodness for caller ID b/c I don't want to talk to telemarketers.

Please, do not call me again to my cellphone.

I really REALLY would like you to stop interruptiong my work and making me waste minutes of my cellphone.

I received a call May 15, 2011 at 5:32 p.m. (Eastern Time) in Canada from (866- 599-2266) The  representative of "TRG Group on behalf of TD Canada Trust" knew my first and last name only (which is not as it is shown on my TD Visa Card), my complete address, and that I had a TD VISA. She was "promoting" a $19.99 "monitoring" service that monitors credit card activity and alerts the cardholder of any suspicious or fraudulent activity. As included part of this "service", TRG sends the cardholder their Equifax credit report at three-month intervals to the subscriber to monitor their credit rating and note any activities that may be indicative of identity theft. Solicited as first 30 days free, cancel at any time. I too provided my DOB, email and my consent (I had to say "yes" clearly, as was told the call was being "recorded").
As soon as I hung up the phone, if felt I had been scammed.

Just contacted TD Visa security; I was told this is a legitimate offer solicited by their marketing firm on behalf of the Bank.
I also asked about my being on the "do not call list", yet did receive a soliciting call.
Explained was: I am a client of the bank's services, therefore they (the bank) may contact me by any means, which includes contracted third-parties... in this case solicitors acting on behalf of the bank.

What matter concerns?

These idiots have been calling my house for weeks and then someone in my household picked up for them and the phone was handed to me. I never gave them my email address and when they asked for my Date of Birth I said the month then the day as I pulled the phone away from me and hung up.

I got the same information about this being from TD Bank and they knew my name and address. Very creepy and was worrying all night that I had been scammed. The guy on the phone just kept on going "ummm.........ummm."

Then they had the nerve to call up again tonight but thankfully nobody answered the phone this time in my household.

This is Visa offering to sell you more services- even if you are on the DNC list they or any company can call you if you have done business with them if the last 18 months.

This group of people have been phoning 5 times a day everyday for the past month,,,PLEASE STOP!!! OUR ANSWERING MACHINE IS FULL OF YOUR NUMBER CONSISTANTLY!  They have been told we have no interest and we prescribe to the do not call list of Canada!  STOP HARRASSING US!

i dont know who is calling from this no. if it is the TD visa office they must call from the known phone number why they call from the unlisted and unfamiliar number?

This number has called several times to my land line - but it hangs up after getting my voice mail.

has anybody that agreed to it received the so called information in the mail?

Anyone! Please, help me! Give me please the number to cancel TRG customer service within 30 trial days, because yesterday I did a big mistake and said Yes to their telemarketer:(((
