- JCalls multiple times daily looking for person with the same name but different SS# and address. These people are extremely rude, threatening and will not listen. I will be reporting them to the Attorney General but I am looking for an attorney to file a class action suit against them. Hope others would be interested in joining.

- AngelaSeven calls in two days from this number. They won't leave a message when voice mail kicks in and I won't answer because when you do there is no one there.
My number is a VOIP phone with a Houston exchange, which rings at my office in Iraq. It's a nuisance robodialer call and someone should find these pests and tape their fingers together. - Tony L. WilliamsonThese are the rudest people I've ever dealt with! I don't know who they work for, but maybe they should get somebody with a little more sense to do their dirty work for them. And it would'nt hurt to brush up on their English.

- MariaSomeone keeps calling me from this number. Please help me stop it.
- JeniferThey call my house continuously during the day while I'm at work. It is distracting my babysitter and taking her attention off my children.
- Caller: VanRue
- RoseThey will not stop calling here. They have called four times in 20 minutes. No will answer me when I pick up phone. Who are these people?
- jm| 1 replyI received a call from this number, which apparently is some sort of collection agency - VanRue. They usually don't leave a message on the recorder but this time they did and they left a number to return their call. Two problems - one) the accent of the person is so thick I can't understand even a quarter of what they said and two) they asked for me by my maiden name. I haven't called them back because I only have two debts and neither is in my maiden name nor are they in collection. I would be willing to join in a class action suit against them because I've lost count as to the number of times they've called, although this was the first time they actually left a voice message.

- billy painterA recording that states its a debt collector the name I'm not sure of. I have no debt and owe nobody anything. they call a couple of time a month. They ask for my name and then ask me to hold when I answer the phone or when I call them back at the number they ask me to return the call 866-608-7665. They first say, if this is not me then call this number 866-608-766, then they say make sure there is no one around to hear the personal information that I am about tho give them, then it say's if this is me then leave my social security number and they will get back with me.

- WHAT YOU SHOULD DOThere are two major pieces of legislation that govern debt collection. In this article, I share with you the key points from each of them, so that you can fully understand your rights and defend yourself from violations by Van Ru Credit Corporation or other companies.
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
This law makes sure that consumers are treated fairly by the debt collectors, and not harassed or hounded. We are very lucky to have these protections in the US!
Other countries are not so lucky. In Spain, for example, debt collectors commonly dress up in costumes and follow their targets around–home, office, restaurants, etc–so that everyone will know who owes money to debt collectors. The goal is to use public shame to get people to pay their debts!
Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, debt collectors are forbidden to use this shame tactic in the US, because they are not allowed to discuss your finances with third parties. They’re not allowed to call your workplace if you’ve told them not to, and they’re not allowed to call you so much it amounts to harassment. They are also not allowed to call you before 8 am or after 9 pm.

They are also not allowed to call you before 8 am or after 9 pm.
Another key part of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that you need to understand is that it forbids debt collectors to make groundless threats of legal action.
This means that if a debt collector threatens to garnish your wages, they must have a real intent and ability to pursue a court case against you and win the right to garnish wages. If they don’t intend to do this, or their case would not convince a judge, then it is illegal for them to make the threat.
The other important debt collection law is the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
This law makes it illegal for debt collectors to report false information about you to the credit bureaus. This prevents them from ruining your credit based on bad information. Why would they do this? Well, ruining your credit is a common tactic that debt collectors like Van Ru Credit Corporation use to pressure people into repaying their debts.
Examples of invalid or inaccurate debts that cannot legally lead to credit damage include expired debts, debts in the wrong name, debts with incorrect balances, debts incurred by an identity thief, and debts previously paid in full or discharged during bankruptcy.
If your debt falls into any of these categories, you should get legal help.- Caller: VAN RU
