After a bit of research I have found this number to belong to Capitol One credit card collections. I do not now or have I ever had a Capitol One credit card but this agency continues to call anywhere from 8am up to 9pm and on weekends as well. The Minnesota Attorney Generals office has sued them for fraud and won because of their illegal practices. This agency has even bilked innocent people out of money for a debt they did not owe in order to keep their credit report clean. Its high time the federal government step in and shut them down completely and permanently and force them to make restitution!! Contact the Attorney General of your state to join a class action suit against Capitol One / Allied.

they keep calling and never seem to leave a message. i think it's my right not to answer a call if i don't know the number.
if it's important they should leave  something. right?

Got a call fromthis number today.  It was Directv.

This is weird.  Some posters are saying it's DirecTV and some are saying it's Capitol One Credit cards.  Is it possible that they are a generic collection agency that has been hired by both?  I'm confused.

It is most definitely DirectTV. I have answered and it is a message to say my bill was past due. A little ebarassing to admit but since nobody knows me here, I'll just say it.

Also a little embarassing is that I don't know how to spell.

Folks, its a scam. It calls me every day, saying it is Direct TV and it is calling to confirm an upcoming service appointment. It gives you the option to keep or change, and if you answer, it says you need to talk to "customer service". I got suspicious since I had not scheduled an appointment, so I immediately hung up and called Direct TV from a legit number. They said I had no appointment scheduled and no record of me scheduling one. Number called back later that night and said I had to call some other number immediately regarding my account. I checked with Direct TV again and they said it wasn't them. Beware, its nothing but a big scam.

How weird, they just called me.  But the normal collections numbers from Direct tv have been calling too so it's possible that it is a collection department.

i got a call from 866-632-6294 and when i checked voicemail it was direct tv giving me a different number to call back. My bill is up to date so i have no intention of returning calls, i get these calls quite often.

I can confirm it's DirecTV.  I also have Capitol One credit cards (personal and business), but I know this one was from DirecTV since I always get this call the day AFTER my bill is due (5 days before I pay it on the 16th, oh well).

Usually unless it's some scumbag agency trying to sell you something, if you call the number back you can hear right away who the company is.  Funny that if they are going to use automated systems to make mass phone calls like this, they should make sure the customer can call the phone number back to simply identify who's calling.  Because calling this number just got me a message that "all circuits are busy", and it wasn't my phone since I use VoIP (no "circuits").

The end result is a waste of their time calling me (a computer's time, but still a waste of effort) and they don't get their point across so they have to call again.  These kinds of calls are making phones as useless as spam has made email.  All I do is block these calls if they call 3-5 times a day because it's excessive.  They waste their time, and I get peace from the annoyance.

I get them all the time. I just ignore them.

It's direct tv telling you that your bill is past due.  The automatic dailer calls your 1st number and a person calls your 2nd number on record.  When I asked the rep. she said that the automatic dailer calls 1st and if there is no answer a message will not be left.

I don't have Direct tv and they called me 2 times this morning. I call the number back and it says my call can not be completed at this time, try back again.

I keep getting calls from this number. I haven't had an account in 2yrs and paid it off.

It's DirectTV.
