Got a message saying there was fraud on my tax returns that I am hiding and need to get it taken care of... IRS doesnt make home calls they will send you something in the mail.

Got a message saying there was a fraud on my taxes after a recent audit and to call and speak to an officer.  When I called back and asked to be taken off their list, they hung up.

Repeated calls from them.  Some sort of Indian accented male claiming to be the IRS wanting all sorts of info like name, address, SS.  when queried they hang up.  Last call form them i told them i was calling the FBI fraud line.....no more calls.

Same issue. They called my phone five times, and left three different voicemails to call them. They finally called me and told me the whole fraud thing. What a mess. lol

they called me with an electronic voice saying there is a problem with my taxes.  i live off disability and don't even have enough to pay any taxes and haven't for more than ten years.  [***]!  they not the IRS!  damn...  why do people get away with stuff like this?

Gotten a phone call from this so called officer name Jerry Williams who's badge # 0708 telling me about some type of money I owe to the IRS I never filed a 1048 nor a 941 c form and they threatened to have an officer to come to my house and take me to jail IN ALASKA if I don't resolve this matter. I told them to explain this to my mother and he hung up. I called again and a Marcus Brown answered and I asked him do he have my social security # because I want to make sure this isn't a scam he hung up. This is very aggravating and upsetting I hope they find these people and arrest them for this.

Just received an automated call telling me to call this number and that I owed the IRS money and would be arrested fro fraud.  I called back and the 1st guy says hello, this is the IRS and when I screamed at him he hung up.  I called back a send time, this guy answers and say this is the Internal Revenue Service and when I screamed into the phone again, he hung up.  Good way to get rid of this SCUM BAGS....They are phishing for that one person who will pay them...They called the wrong dude, as I have owed the IRS and they send you letters and if things escalate due to none payment they will attach wages / property, but they work with you...So, don't get caught in this trap...

Received this robo-call this morning as well- an automated male voice claiming to be from the IRS because I was "hiding" something or committed "fraud" on my tax return - followed by a request to return the call at the phone number listed here. (Freaked me out because I literally just e-filed yesterday - purely a coincidence?!?!) I was going to wait until Monday so I could contact my accountant to have them call back, but something seemed a little fishy about the whole thing, so I Googled the number, and found this site. All of the posts for this particular number seem to be from just the last few days. I don't know if this means that these scammers have just gotten started, but I figured I'd share an excerpt from the IRS website with information on how to handle this:

   Do not give out any information. Hang up immediately.

   Contact TIGTA (The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration) to report the call. Use their “IRS Impersonation Scam Reporting” web page. You can also call 800-366-4484.

   Report it to the Federal Trade Commission. Use the “FTC Complaint Assistant” on FTC.gov. Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" in the notes.

Answered a call from this number and heard a recording that said "this call is from the Fraud Department of IRS ..." and at that point I hung up.

Same as all the others... IRS Scam.  Ignore it.  Delete it.  Report it, I dunno.

So it the IRS ??? because I've been getting the same calls but every time i call back says that this number is not assigned
