Automated voice left a message to call about a debt payment.  Left an 866 number and a "reference" number.  We have no outstanding debts.

Automated voice left a message to call about a debt payment...said to call this number back and use a reference number.  I have no idea who these people are or what debt they could be referring to.  It's really funny that they are calling at tax time....some people do get sucked in and will play their game!!

Got a call from this 866-655-5826 number and i called it back and they wanted my social security number to verfy who i was, i told them no and hug up.  Be aware they are up to no good.

These scumbags left an automated message. Guess what? I just hung up. Don't play their scam! Hang up as soon as you here them speak!

Just got the same message at my business, for an Allan (or Ellen) Bonsol about a debt. Nobody by that name is here, nor do I owe any money. Glad I found these comments before calling back. Looks like a phone phishing attempt to get personal info - don't fall for it.

I received an automated call as described in the above complaints and when I called back a man answered and requested my phone number and last four digits of my SSN.  He then stated he had the wrong party.  VERY un-nerving and sounded shady.  He offered nothing and hung up quickly.

I just received a call from this number and googled it before answering. Thanks for this site. Of course, there was no message left by these crooks.

Another automated call from this number stating that they were calling from the law office of Mitchell & Kay in an effort to collect a debt, and of course they left a reference number.... I have excellent credit, with no debt.... I worry about the elderly that may be confused by this sort of call and loose everything they have.... I am going to report this call to my state attorney general.

Received a call today from this number.  No name on caller ID just "Toll Free Number"   They were asking for someone who does not reside at this number.   I have been getting these calls for this person for over a year.  Even if you get it straightened out with one collection sgency, they just sell it to the next agency and make no note about the incorrect phone no.  I finally filed a complaint aginst one agency with the state attorney general's office and thought it was taken care of -- guess not.  Time to try again.

Message left for me today from Mitchell n Kay to call them about a debt. 866 655 5826 is the number provided. I stood in my living room for about 2 minutes wondering what possible debt I could have. Found your site; thanks!

We use a fake name in the phone book as opposed to being unlisted, they called today with reference to the fake name and left a message regarding a debt.  Note there is no person here under the name in the phone book.  I called back and gave them the number they asked if I was tom john (the fake name in the book, but not really that name) I said yes, they asked for the last 4 digits of my social, I said no, they asked me to confirm that they had the correct last four and read off 4 numbers, I said no and they said they would delete me from their list.  I think it is a phishing campaign.

They call to say "this call is for" and then after silence the call disconnects.   We have no debt.  They call sare very annoying.

I just received a message stating the call was from the law offices of Mitchell & Gray and they asked for my name then left a reference # and return phone #. I did call the # back but heard several clicks and was put on hold. Hung up then came to search the number. Thank you for the posts about this number. I'll be sure to not answer calls from this number again. Interesting enough I am not listed in the phone book by the name they asked for. They had my correct name...

After a hundred calls from this # and being hung up on, placed on hold, connected to several different departments. FINALLY i talked to someone. I had a debt with wachovia bank and they had bought the debt. So its a real debt collection agency.

These idiots dumped their entire recorded message into my answering machine. The recording (with a British accent; apparently someone told Mitchell N. Kay that British accents convey an air of authority) says that they're calling for (in a computer-synthesized drop-in) "Randy Miller" or something like that. Incredibly, the recording claims that if you listen to the whole thing, you admit to being "Randy Miller." (The concept of an answering machine is apparently beyond them.) They want you to call them back at 866-655-5826 and reference account number 77695017.

My name is nowhere near "Randy Miller" and I've had the phone number for at least a decade, so they're apparently going to find "Randy Miller" by dialing every phone number in the western hemisphere. I doubt we're ever going to find any scammers more stupid than Mitchell N. Kay.

4/13/2009 - 12:33pm.  I rec'd a call from 402-593-7107.  It is a collection company / law firm. Their call back number is 866-655-5826. It is typical ship trace practices that collection companies / law firms get copies of your old bills, look up companies you have done business with in the past AND call you (leaving messages) posing as those companies.  Collection companies contact your phone service provider through skip tracing and get lists of phone numbers you call ILLEGALLY and start calling those numbers.  If anyone admits to knowing you they call YOU posing as that person.  They will call as Omaha Steak, your cell phone provider, cable company or your neighbor.  I have had collection companies and law firms contact me posing a police officers (which is highly illegal), court employees and hospital personnel.  

My neighbors credit card company skipped traced all the neighbors in my apartment complex, found out our cell phone company, illegally got a copy of our phone bills, called our families/friends asking if they knew my neighbor and asked that he call the credit card company.  My friends, family and co workers were getting made at me that they were getting harassing calls for a neighbor I don;t know. Once they have a good lead your information get's updated in EVERY collection companies computers. If you change your number the cell phone providers keep giving STRANGERS your cell phone information. I have file numerous complaints with Consumer Credit Departments at each State Baking Department. No one cares.

Looking for my husband british accent female caller identifies him by name at least 6 times, stating to hang up if your not him.  To bad the answering machine took the call.  the message was so long the machine didn't even record the whole phone number.  I got it off my caller ID.  When I called them "Mike" wouldn't tell me what they wanted he just kept repeating that they were the law firm of Mitchel & Mckay wanting information about my deceased husbands financial investment accounts.  When I told them I read on the internet not to give them any information and I would talk to my financial advisor in the morning, he hung up on me.  REALLY DO THEY THINK WE ARE IDIOTS, HOW MANY LAW OFFICES DO YOU KNOW THAT ARE OPERATING AT 8PM???

I too am receiving phone calls leaving this number to respond to.  There is also an account number and reference that the number belongs to a law office.  I called this number and spoke with a person who is being harassed by these phone calls.  I believe this to be a scam of some sort.
