Robocall; the number identified is 866-691-1096. The automated message is something like this: "This is the fraud department. Fraudulent activity has been noted on your Barclay's Master Card account. ... To discuss this activity, call Barclay's Master Card at 866-691-1096 ... if you do not wish to receive further calls regarding fraudulent use, press 9." It started to repeat that message; I hung up.

I do not have a Master Card or anything from Barclay's. My phone number has been on the national do-not-call list for many years. I will be reporting this robocall to https://www.donotcall.gov/.

Got same call I do not have a Barclay's charge and never heard of it. I called back and they needed a card number I don't have a card hung up called again and the number is no longer in service. Unreal how people can get away with this.

Got the same recording about Barclays mastercard. Someone has our phone # on their list because it is the 3rd scammer call since last night

I got the same phone call at 11:47 am this morning. Although I receive solicitations in the mail to apply for a Barclays Mastercard, I never have nor do I have one. I have blocked this number on my cell phone and have registered the number on the Do Not Call list.

I got a call this morning from this number saying I had a hold put on my Mastercard world card (A card which I do not have). I called Barclay directly and they confirmed I received a fraudulent call.

I also got a phishing/scam call from them claiming they put a hold on my card.

I received a call about 30 minutes ago, also claiming there was a fraud charge on my world mastercard (which I DO have).  The number to call is no longer in service.  I have confirmed with my MC that no fraud occurred.

Rec'd a call same as Step.  When I called back, they needed my card # to proceed.  Except they didn't tell me which Mastercard they were talking about...BLOCK THIS NUMBER - don't give them any information!

I got this same 'World MasterCard Fraud Alert'  message and called them back.  It's automated and if you enter your acct #, the recording says its invalid MC.  I called my credit card company and there's nothing wrong with my card, so they are investigating with their fraud department and will let me know if any activity occurs on my real card.
Hang up on them if they call, do not give them any info.  If you do accidentally, call the number on the back of your card to alert your credit card company and will keep an extra special eye on your account.

They asked for my credit card number????Do they I am a sucker.

Phishing scam folks. Real Barclay's said they've been getting alot of calls regarding this "Fraud Alert".

I typed in SS #, before I realized it might be a scam. Then hung up. What should I do now to protect myself? Not sure if I'm in danger of identity theft. Any ideas?
