called me and asked about a reference for a guy I didnt know.  Told them I didnt and they asked for my wifes #.  Called her and asked her about the same guy.

Just got a call from them. Asked for my husband. Said it was "personal business." Wanted to know if I was his wife. Said it was his "personal business not yours" and hung up on me. I starred 69 and got the following digits 800 721 24143 which seems like an invalid #. Pressing 1 to call the number didn;t work but out of curiosity I dialed the digits and got a recording that said "Mass Market Reserve 800 Hotline" and then it hung up. I do not think this is a debt collection place as they give their info to get your money. I think its a scam for sure and I just got done reporting it to the FCC. I hate people leeches.

googled the 1800 number above because I have a charge in a bank statement from them, tried calling and got the same recording. Will deal with my bank but thought others should know

My wife received a call from this number asking for me.  After awhile of haggling with her they told her who they were and that I owed a sum of money on a debt which was bogus.  They asked her for my social at which time she refused to provide and hung up.  The caller ID did not recognize the number but she hit redial and it came up 1-866-691-3568.  The name of the collection agency is Portfolio Recovery Associates.

I have been using my friends cell phone for about three years now and this company has found this # some how and keep calling it. About two years ago I wrote a registered letter to them wanting copies of all the signed receipts and have not heard and word from them and they are now back to harassing me.

This number keeps calling my mother in laws house and asking for me constantly and everytime i call the number back it is some equity thing that I don't even have. The number is 866 691 3568 ext 45147. They don't seem to get it.

Today I received a call from 866-691-3568 for my xhusband and his new wife. I told the gentleman that I have not seen or heard from my x in over 12 years. He stated they had put my number down as a family contact and I laughed at him. I told him I had no way of contacting them, but if he did, could they get him to pay the 50k hes behind in support? He promptly told me he would remove my number from the case file and was sorry to bother me. I hope that is the end of it.

they called out house looking for my husbands brother. they said it was a "personal matter."

Some lady called my mom and said she was looking for me for a "personal matter" and gave her this number 1-866-691-3568. My mom called me and i googled the number and got here. if they want to talk to me, and they are a legit company, they can get my number just like any other legit buisness, from the credit companies. Her Name was Deborah Towns.

I just goa a call at work  from a lady asking for me but did not even have my name right.

She ask if this was my home number and she was told it was the work she said her name was Lydia Turner. And said it was a private business.

Well name wrong and did not know where she was calling sound like scam of some type

I just got off the phone with an attorney.

The attorney is filing a case for me on this. I'm not the party the debt collection agency is seeking and I have no connection to them whatsoever and I have told this in the past. The attorney (krohn and moss) said they will take the case no charge to me at all. So we are filing against them.

The attorney was really helpful. If you are getting calls from a collection agency and have told them to stop and you are not the person they are looking for, you probably have a case. Don't let them ruin your day. The attorney said keep a log of calls and then call an attorney the deals with debt collectors. You might have a recourse you didn't know about.

This has really helped me. Before I felt helpless but now i know what to do.  Completely removes the stress. :-)

It's a legit collections agency.  They aren't very professional and ask impertinent questions while trying to collect the debt, such as "who is your current employer" and "are you married or single."  I managed to keep the conversation to a single call, I gave them my address to send a letter to indicating that I paid the debt by credit card.  The amount and the debt itself were legit, though the debt was almost 10 years old.  There's always the possibility that they got the information off my credit report to scam me, but if people have been getting calls since 2008 or earlier they are likely a real company.

I checked my incoming call log and it registered a 1-866-691-3568.  I assume it is from some fly-by-night collection agency.  I never answer my phone unless the number that appears on my caller ID is from someone I know.  I have a recorded message that tells the caller to leave their name and number and if I know them, I will return their call, otherwise, 'Have a Nice Day'.  These callers are very persistent but I just ignore them and let them play their childish games.  So far no one has ever left a name or number...just hang up.

This is also the "Customer Service" telephone number that the online bank PayPal prints on their Debit cards.  No Customer Service here...the call disconnects after the company ids itself as Mass Market Reserve 800 Line"

Last night, my parents received a call from this number, they left a message stating that they were looking for me, if this number is not me to disregard.  This truly upset my parents, my Dad already has a a heart problem.  I don't even live at my parents home.  I called this number back five times and no one answered, even though their automated system stated that their business hours are from 8am-9pm EST.

This is a debt collection agency.  It seems they try to contact anyone that shares the name of the debtor they are attempting to locate.
