When they call you do not have to talk to them. As a matter of fact if you tell a collection agency not to call anymore they have to honor that request.
There is a law called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that makes them stop calling if you tell them to. Section 806 Harrassment or Abuse, Sub Paragraph (5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with the intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.

Debt Validation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debt_validation
Debt Validation, or "debt verification", refers to a consumer's right to challenge a debt and/or receive written verification of a debt from a debt collector. The right to dispute the debt and receive validation are part of the consumer's rights under the United States Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and are set out in §809[1] of that act.

- ShellaryThey keep calling my cell phone. Usually a recorded message saying this is not a solicitation call and to call them back. I don't owe anyone any money that is overdue and would never give my cell number as a contact!
- Peggy Barkerthey call and all but NEVER leave a message

- AmandaFemale called and asked for someone whom I never heard of, whose name isnt even the same as my last name. I told her that no one by that name lived here. She then asks if she can leave a message for her. I then yell at her stating that I dont know anyone by that name. she says mam you dont have to yell at me she gave this number as a contact number. We both knew that was a lie. Of course I knew it was bull and probably a collection agency. They have all started calling people whose names are close, whether or not the same name, like going through the phone book and calling everyone. I 've had three in the last three weeks calling for people I have never heard of. They know those people dont live at your address, but to get paid they have to show they have harrassed someone. As stated above, you can file a complaint with the FTC online, and it really works as I have done it. But to get their attention I recommend you send a cease and desist letter, type it up in one sentence telling them to stop calling your number immediately, as stated in the FTC guidelines, then fax or mail it to them. Also I have found that if they call back after that, tell them you are recording the conversation. I've found they disconnect immediately. Don't know why they don't want to talk on tape unless they know they are doing something wrong. It is sad that you pay your bills and still get harrassed by collection agencies.

- KevinSame as everybody else. They will not send me any information in written form, stating only that they have everyright to call me at all hours and demand money saying that they don't have to tell me amounts or give me information about my so called "debt" and that I need to connect the people who they bought the debt from who say they have never heard of Aduit systems. I put their number of my cell phone and when they call I just reject the call and wait a couple hours to do it again and again. I think they are a fraudulant company who bullies people into paying debts they don't actually have.
- heatherIts the same as kevin they call my cell phone over and over i call them back and asked what it was reguarding and there like is this heather and then hung up on me i mean its getting to the point of harrassement.. i really do agree they are a fraud and if they send me a paper than it will be taken care of but till they do it wont be

- Notevenarocketscientist| 2 repliesMost of the comments are hilarious. Heather, if they're calling for you, are you refusing to identify yourself? Why would you refuse to identify yourself? Are you worried or concerned that a bill collector may be calling you, and you wouldn't know how to respond? Debtors are pathetic. Pay your bills people, and you wouldn't be calling calls. Also, if the collector tells you that your number was left as a contact number, it likely was. Get a clue, why would they spend their time "picking numbers out of the phone book"? That is what solicitators do, and I'm sure you wish it was a solicitation call. Pay your bills! Stop the calls! It really is that simple.

- BethThey have called my house at least 5 times a day for the past 2 weeks. Various hours of the day and night. I finally was home for a call tonight, and listened to the call me at such and such # message, and then it said press 1 to talk to them now. I pressed 1 and was connected with someone who I *think* was in Japan and spoke very little English. He asked if I was Beth and completely mangled my last name. When I corrected the pronunciation of my last name, he got rude with me and refused to tell me why he was calling. He kept saying it was personal business for miss so and so. I kept repeating over and over that I was miss so and so, just that he was pronouncing it wrong. I finally gave up and hung up on him, and called the # that the message had given me. I spoke with a lady, and she told me what the bill was that I owe. I let her know that I would be able to pay that bill next month when I get my bonus check. And she told me that she was authorized to call me numerous times daily until the bill was paid and that there was nothing I could do about it. I asked if we could handle this through the mail, simply send me a bill and I would pay it, and she said no, it had to be with a Visa or MasterCard over the phone. At the rate they are going, I will probably send them a bill for every time I have to listen to their machine.

- saraYea. I think it is funny how debtors have to lie to each other and themselves; simply not to pay a bill. At least stand up and say. "Hey I am a debtor! I accrue debt and will not pay it." I had no problems paying my bill. And when I questioned them about a letter they even gave me the date they sent it. Of course I wasn't playing games. I knew I owed a debt. So I id myself and got out my pen and took there Western Union info. I wasn't playing games, so neither did they. You people are losers looking for validation from other losers! Its sounds like you are the harasser's.

- NewPhoneI just got my cell phone a few weeks ago. I keep getting these calls from this number. I finally called them back. A lady answered and asked "Is this AJ's lawn and sprikler repair." I told her no, and this was my private cell number. She asked if I had ever heard of that company, I said no. She appologized, said she would remove me from their calling list, and said goodnight.
Easy as that.- Caller: audit systems collections
