I have answered almost every time they have called. And everytime they ask for Jennifer, but my name is Janae. I have told them that there is no Jennifer at my number and to stop calling. They always say "I will take you on my list". I've had the call at least 5 or 6 times now.

Caller ID says Unavailable, so I don't answer.  The caller lets phone ring 4 times and never leaves a message.  It happens up to 3 times daily.

I'm not gonna pay for minutes to answer anonymous calls from advertisers. Make this stop.

Have received about 6 calls from someone claiming to be soliciting for the Washington State Patrol.  Since when do state agencies directly solicit donations from the public (other than issuing tickets)?

Sounds like a scam to me...

Made the mistake of once donating to them and they just won't stop calling.  Once my husband, who recently got caught in two speed traps even called them back and told them to deduct it from his tickets.... they still don't get it.  My husband said on the next call he plans to practice some newly learned cuss words from some of his co-workers, I have to race him to the phone to keep him from picking up.  One friend said to answer in a foreign accent and say No Habla!  that supposedly will work.

This is Washington State Patrol Troopers Association.  Like other phone soliciting charities, they usually ring 4 times, then hang up.  If you give to them as I did, they just won't stop calling.

I have two telephone numbers and got a call from this on both of my numbers, one right after the other.  From the comments it appears to be a telephone solicitor, that solicits for a charity.  The problem is that very little of the money goes to the charity.   The Washington State Patrol Association is a charity, that provides support to the Offices in time of need,  but the chraity may only get pennies on the dollar if any, from the Solicitor.  The Company may also solicit for other orgianzations.  If you get any calls from these people ask for their Charitable Solications Number from the State of Washington so that you can check them out.  For the State of Washington you may check out charities and paid solicitors on the Sec. of State Web Site http://www.sos.wa.gov/charities/ 

Other States have similar registrations as well, check with your state to find out where.

Here is a follow up.   The Commercial Fund Rasier listed with the Secretary of State, who solicits for the Washington State Patrol Troopers Association,  Is a company called Brent-Wyatt West out of Phoenix AZ.  According to the profile report only 30% of what they raise goes to their charity clients.

Every evening from 6  until 9 pm, I receive a phone call from this number repeatedly.  If I answer, then nobody speaks, but they call back 10 minutes later.  I tried answering and just setting down the phone without speaking, and a voice said "hello, hello", then I hung up the phone.  This last time, I answered and tried crunching an empty water bottler in the phone speaker. My next attempt will be a whistle - very annoying - we have an unlisted number and are on the do-not-call list.

I use www.voipo.com as my phone provider (shameless plug, they're very good), so every time I get a callerID of '800 Service', I let it go to voicemail (they never leave a message).  Then I go to my VoIPo control panel, call history, and blacklist the phone number.

Works like a champ, but that callerID is used by a growing number of telemarketers, so I have to block every phone number individually.

Call the number, have them take you off of their list. WSP is paid thru taxes, no need for them to solicit. End of story.

Keep getting calls from this number please stop.

We get 2-4 calls a day from this number - it lists "1 800 services" in the caller ID
Odd thing is nobody is ever on the line... when I answer there is just silence then it disconnects.
