I just received a call from "R. Griffin" at 312-546-4527 telling me I had won a Ford Expedition or one of other prizes and to call 1-866-770-8762 and speak to her supervisor.  She knew my name, address and phone number and said I had entered online and the contest is officially over and my ticket number had been selected.  I do not recall entering any contest and while I could certainly use a new car I don't enter contests that I cannot afford to pay the sales tax on the prize no matter how unlikely I am to win.  Also, while the name is common, I've had to call "Mr. Russell with NCO Financial" so suspect this may be phishing to get you to return a bill collector's call....

Holy Cow... we are all winning new cars from this new hope and change.  Must have a surplus of them Fords.

I received the same message today from a "call center" or at least the tape recording in the background playing busy call center sounds.  I never entered this contest either and I suspect if you call this number from your land line (ie: home telephone number) you will possibly be charged an expensive toll call fee from your phone service provider.   Mr. Russell get the money from your call of course.

THIS IS A SCAM

I am a fraud investigator (Police Officer) here in Canada and often speak to groups on Internet and phone scams, this exact type of thing. I got this call on the phone at our vacation home in the USA. It came from 843-375-6268 and asked that I call the prize director at 866-770-8762. It was for a Ford Escape.

I know from my work experience that this is an "Advance Fee Fraud Scam" where they will try to dupe you into paying some sort of fee or tax in advance before you can get your prize. You pay the money and never hear from them again, unless they try to double scam you.

Remember the old saying, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

Same exact nonsense call - I hardly ever got to malls and if I do I certainly don't enter contests while shopping - I was curious about the "spiel" so I called the number only to get an answering machine where I was supposed to leave information about myself and someone would call me back within 15 minutes. That's just too stupid to even consider.

I just got a message from a woman called Amanda Lewis on my answering machine. Exact same thing: won a Ford Escape in a contest and to call this 1-866-770-8762 number. I got suspicious since I did not enter any contest. Called the number. Apparently Mr. Bill Russell wants me to leave my info so someone could call me back within 15 minutes. Right.

I got a voicemail from Marcus who left a message that I had entered a contest online to win a Ford Escape and the contest was over and I had won...that I need to call the claim director to claim my prize.  However the Name & phone number that showed on my caller ID is Marcus Page @773-278-8131. When I retrieved the caller information from for callback info with my local phone company .........I got "You have reach the phone for Marcus,John, Christina and Mia"...doesn't sound like  a business or professional call.

Got the same message saying I won a Cadilac Escalade from an online contest I entered. I too had not entered any contest. Caller ID came from number 1-773-278-8131. I was asked to call: 1-866-770-8762. Guy sounded like a total scammer cheeseball. This has scam written all over it.

I received a call yesterday, 4/18 from "Callahan" claiming my ticket was pulled to win a Cadillac Escalade and other prizes.  He had my name, phone number and address and said I entered on-line, which I never do!  Caller ID shows 773-278-8131 and the number to call back and claim my prize is 866-770-8762.  I did NOT call back!

Recieved same call as everyone else. Christina Lee, Entered Online, Won Free Escalade, call back at 866-770-8762.

I find it strange that within the last 24 hours there have been posts for this from 4 different people, one being in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, which is the next town over. I am interested in the location of where people are residing when they got this call.

Got the same call only they mentioned my son as the winner of a Cadillac Escalade...

Same exact call regarding winning a car came from a local number in Bothell, WA. The number that showed up on the caller ID was (425) 381-4840. They also knew my basic info (most likely pulled from public sources, my number is listed) and asked me to call the 1 (866) 770-8762 number. The name of the announcer was Amanda Lewis. The message sounded like a scam. I am not sure how exactly their scam works, but I am certain it is a scam. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

I also got a call from the Bothell number today with the same message.  I have no interest in owning a Cadillac Escalade so I wouldn't knowingly enter to win one.  I reported the 866 number to the Do Not Call Registry Complaint Dept.

I had received this call this week in Newington, CT also.

I also got a call today from 425.381.4840 from a Diane, she told me that I had entered online and that my ticket had been pulled and that I won a Cadillac.  like everyone here,  I never entered, she told me to call her toll free number at 1.866.770.8762 to claim my prize.  I am a police detective and am making attempts to locate this crook............
