Received this call several times. They never leave a message.

After dozens of empty answering machine msgs, caller finally left a msg - Aris Interactive, a research firm, collecting data on the health care industry, offering a cash incentive to complete a survey.  Yeah, right...like the same cash incentive offered for stuffing envelopes?

Call received February 04/09. Research firm that was collecting info regarding the quality of the "customer services" of the bank that you are doing business with. Different questions where you are asked to evaluate different aspects of the service (from 1 to 9, 1 being poor service, etc)...

He said he was from Harris International and wanted to ask research questions of my wife.

I threw the person for a loop (he put me on hold for a few minutes, probably to consult with supervisor) when I said "next question" 3 times when he asked about "marital status".

A research company. I said I dont do surveys. Take me off your list.

866-794-2255 - Just received a five (5) back-to-back calls from this number on my cell phone.
FIVE (5)? They must REALLY want to talk to me, right?
I missed the calls as my phone was in the bedroom, and alas,
they didn't even bother to leave any messages for me.
I have a very Simple Rule regarding UNKNOWN Callers:
If you can't be bothered to leave me even a short message,
then I can't be bothered to take the time to call you back.

The strange thing is, Caller ID showed different names each time.
Either they have their outgoing ID showing up differently on the various phones throughout
their call center (which would be VERY strange indeed, as this would require some actual work
to change these, plus they are probably using a PBX system, which uses the same info for
EVERY phone located there) OR someone is spoofing their name and number.

On their website, it clearly states that they are supposedly EXEMPT from
the DNC Registry laws (I'm not sure this is actually true or not), but that
they also DO in fact have a DNC list that they use if you ask to be put on it.
Since they are located in Canada, they are somewhat exempt from USA DNC Laws,
BUT... Canada has some pretty strict DNC laws as well:

I asked them to remove me from their list.. we will see i guess.

I am very tired of receiving 4 calls a day from companies who hang up as soon as you answer. Its driving me up the wall.. Running in from washing the car to get the phone and then there is no one there.. ERR..
I believe their "research" is to learn what time I am at home to sell to others..

These companies should be obliterated!

no message was left and they only called once SO FAR. It actually said Acrobat on my call display. Did not call them back.

I just received a call from this number.  The call display said "Acrobat".  They didn't leave a message.

A soft-spoken woman said it was for "Harris Bank" then she hung up/lost the call.

Got a call from this number. I completed the survey. It was a bank survey from acrobat (call display).
Hope this is legitimate.

I receive a call from them at least once/day.  We don't have caller ID but long distance rings different and we don't answer.  It is a pain to have to delete their call every time they phone....as soon as it flips to the answering machine, they hang up.

acrobat research, from what I know of it, is just a survey company, we call people all over and mostly do surveys for banks and such.  its boring and doesnt pay that great, but its a job.  if you listen to the questions we ask, its not that big of a deal.  im not sticking up for the company, but its always going to be a little different each call you get from our place because there are different personalities.  and to the post about the soft spoken woman, i have an idea of who it was and shes kinda flakey, if she couldnt hear you well or it was close to break or closing she probably just hung up.  i couldnt tell you if the company has any agendas politically or if theres any angles, but its not a scam on the interviewers end, we just make the call and hope not to be told to f off too many times. hope this helps.

you know - that's quite a sentiment....just making the calls and hoping you don't get sworn at too many times. Lately, I've had to laugh because telemarketers have started hanging up on ME - because I've started asking questions, even tho I have been extremely polite.  I think both sides - the people who answer, and the people who make the calls have to remember that there are humans on either side of the phone.  If the industry has to exist, can we be human enough to still be polite?  It is better in MHO to just hang up rather than swear at the people on the other end....

"Imakebarelyoverminwage", I hope you find something to pursue that is better than this.  It has to be depressing.

Whoever it was, they left a message on my voice mail. Twenty-four seconds of heavy nasal-breathing into a headset microphone. Pleasant.
