It's a collect call from a jail or prison inmate.  If you answer, you have the option to accept, decline, or block the call.  Charges vary based on where you live.  Where I am, a 15 minute call costs $9.60.

We received many calls from this number and indeed did find out our son had been arrest for outstanding parking tickets, so when the call came again we tried to enter a credit card number like it asked but it declined it. We thought it was because it was a pre-piad debit card and would not take it because it asked for a billing zip code. We tried another credit card with a billing address connected to it and again because of it being a debit card it declined it. Knowing our son was most likly tring to contact us the next time we put a regular credit card in and it took all the information and kept asking over and over for the three number code and zip code so we put all that in and then the number diconnected. How do we know this is not a scam and when we know are son is in jail how can we make it so he can call us?

I got a call from this number, I thought it was my girl friend, but as soon as it got finished asking if I would accept the charges who ever was trying to call me hung up, so I tryed to reverse lookup the number but it didnt come up with anything, but this website. So does anyone know where this phone is or who the calls are coming from?

I got a call saying it was a collect call and I had to set up a pre payment. When I tried it disconnected.

Got this call on my vm at 1pm this afternoon.

i got this call around 7:40 today and tried to call back but the number said it was disconnected. Anybody have any luck with this number if its a scam or not?

This is a number that shows up from any phone in any county jail that works with the advance pay GTL company. The first call never goes thru, but you use it to set up a prepay account. After the initial call you can keep adding money to the account after the 24 hours has passed. To set up an account to that number to be able to accept calls you dial 800 483 8314.

Freaking convicts trying to scam people into giving out their cc#.

I received several calls from this nummber, it was a recorded message stating that it was from Twin Towers Correctional Center???  I don't know anyone from there.  How do I know this is a legit call?

what is this site for?  At the top of this page there is a link to "report it"...ok so now I reported it, what next???  This still doesn't answer our questions!  Where do we go from here to find out is this is a scam?  And... who is this being reported too!!!

i keep getting calls from this number. Each time i recieve this call i cannot understand the name that is being spoken, theirfor i am left not knowing who is trying to contact me!

I got a call on my cell. Annnnd I happen to know someone that is in jail. And yes....that's wierd too.

My mom just called me irate about someone calling from this number multiple times.  There may be an option to block the number but due to the fact that the recording is in spanish and we only speak english.....we dont know when or what button to push to block the number.  I googled the number and it said that it was a prision....we called and spoke with the warden and he is going to get something done about it.  Heck, it's worth a try!!!!!

I think it's a real service for people who are in jail, to contact their loved ones.  Anyone else feel that way? My boyfriend has called me once through that.  He's been trying to call me many times after that initial call but it a robot takes over & asks for a credit card number.  When I put it in, it says the credit card is declined.  I miss him so much.
