Got a call two days in a row from the 866-828-3072 saying it was a urgent personal matter that 'we' needed to resolve.  I called the number, the lady answered like it was her home telephone and started says is this 'xyx'.  I told her I had no idea who she was looking for, however she did not need to call me back.

I got a call from this number claiming I owed money for a medical bill, but when I asked if it was a matter I could take up with the hospital, she told me no and when my husband called back, and asked if our local police department could call them, she hung up on him.  She claimed to be with the Franklin Collection Service, but this is not a contact number listed on the website.  It has SCAM written all over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

refused to mail anything, said legal action being taken, i asked them to validate this, as it didn't make sense to me, said they don't have to, which i know they do, they demanded i give them my credit or debit info, i said i can't , told me i know you can...also they threaten to call my work and get my work info, i only believe its franklin collections through a search don't recal them giving me a company name...funny that this number wasnt on the site and it's the number they gave me, wouldn't they give me main number.

No message. I didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. Searched on line for the number and found this page to report. We don't answer unknown numbers. Looked on the internet to find any information for this number and came up with this website.

This number has called me 4 times this week. I don't answer unknown numbers and google searched the number and this is the site that comes up. If this was a legit company, wouldn't the company come up when you do a reverse number search? Thanks to other comments I believe it is a scam.

Filing a report with te FTC - they call - I answer- nothing... They hang up. I call the # back it rings forever. When a girl answered there was no " business name" when she answered , no name of who she was, NOTHING to validate who this # belongs to or why they would be calling me. I asked who this was and she said ," well , who is this?" I told her she calls this # daily- when u answer it's silent, you leave a message when I don't - again not identifying who they are... But when I call u you still don't identify yourself? She sai I called " getting an attitude " with her so she didn't have to tell me anything. I told her to quit calling me and she says "no I dot have to" I explained that I " beg to differ ad I'd file a complaint with the FTC - which is where I'm headed now.

My mother in Duluth has been called twice by them.  They claim to be looking for "Kenneth" and she does not even have the same last name!!  Of course she did not give them any information.  This has scam written all over it.   They don't tell her why they are calling.  A woman just tries to say that itis an important matter.

These people called my husband's work phone claiming they needed to "verify employment" for me!  He works in a classified area and told them it was a govt. phone and left it at that.  They wouldn't identify themselves, but continued to claim they need to verify my employment.  Now I'm worried that some one is trying to establish credit somewhere in my name.

This number has called me various times since I got the phone in February asking for a certain "Matthew Thrasher". Sounds like a female voice. I don't know no one with that name.

Called by this number yesterday, claiming to be a collections agency.  When I told them to send it in writing they claimed the mail wasn't secure.  Which was funny since I work for the postal service and we're more secure than the phone.  Demanded I deal with it right then over the phone.  I fobbed them off saying I was at work and couldn't deal with it right then.  Now that I've seen these comments I'll be ignoring them.

They've called me 6 times this week. A couple of times back to back. We don't answer unknown #'s. I have looked the # up twice can't find anything on it. One search with. Franklin finacial on it but it looks like a scam site....I suggest block the # if you can. my phone has the option to send a # directly to voicemail if its saved as a newcontact #...........

Also the search that comes up with franklin on it kicks me of the web everytime I try to veiw it....I smell scam

This is a debt collector called Franklins. I thought it was a scam at first too since I read all these comments. When I called, they provided me with the date of service, amount & name of originator. I recongnized that date as the date my daughter was at Urgent Care. I called the originator directly (with a number I looked up) and verified that I did owe them money. I paid the originator directly, problem solved.

This number calls my work every day. The caller ID at works says TELEMARKETER. I just ignore it. If it is a collection agency, I alreay know who I owe money to and who I don't owe money to. I refuse to answer this call. If they continue to call my work number I will report them to the FCC.

You are [removed:lang] You probably are the same person or persons at the scam setting people up by writing this crap response on here. People this is a scam thru and thru. Do not fall for it.

May be a legit collection Co, I don't know.  What I do know is they have rules they have to abide by. They can't call repeatedly, they have to contact by mail if you wish it and they do HAVE TO provide proof of the original debt. Failure to do so can remove your responsibility to it. Dave Ramsey has a legal/lawyers group that this can be turned over to posted to his website. They only work on ppl who collect outside the rules.
I too received calls from this number, as did a close friend who works in law. Both of us were turned over to collections without receiving the proper bill, or even a bill at all. Imagine the surprise when they call and get a lawyer who works to defend people from collections.
So apparently, this is a real company THEY JUST NEED SOMEONE TO PUT THEM IN CHECK! If you get a call know what the law is (#of calls, producing proof, time frames, your responsibility, etc.) Report improper behavior to someone who can do something about it and handle your business for what you owe.
Another tidbit, they have the authority to negotiate the debt amount down. Pay it and get it in writing to have it removed from your credit report. Otherwise it can stay for well past 7 yrs. Just saying.

I do not answer unidentified calls. I do know that the personal records kept by Community Health Systems, the owner of hundreds of hospitals in the US, were recently hacked. My primary care physician and the hospital with which he is affiliated are both part of CHS. I have received one alert of an attempt at fraudulent activity on my credit card - the one I used at the hospital. It would seem that if this were a legitimate company that they would leave a message, but they never do. I'll not be answering a call from this number. Too many hackers and too many frauds out there to know what we're dealing with anymore.

It is Franklin collection services and even though they call at weird hours, it's legit.
