If this is a Shaw Promotion call, or Shaw orientated, and I knew that to be correct I would definitely call them and place a complaint.
This is a very immature way of approaching potential customers of a Company if this is what they are trying to accomplish. If I determoned this was Shaw, I would consider stopping any kind of business dealings with them.

- maryI received this call everyday(2x to 3x) i don't answered it. i check it at midnight. its seems its another telemarketing. it doesn't say Shaw but I think its possible. its annoying and i hope it will stop. but the only thing you could do is don't answer it.I hope there is a way we could report this. coz sometimes they phone when my kids and I are sleeping so I put my phone to "don't disturb". thanks.
- SKI just got a phone call from this phone number. Woman claimed to represent Shaw Cable and asked if I'm experiencing any problems with my digital cable box. I said no, and asked her what the call is about. She replied, "This is just a courtesy call." I smelt something fishy, so I called Shaw. Now this is the important part:
*****The person who picked up at Shaw told me without any hesitation that they do not have anyone making such courtesy calls, and that whoever just called me is not with Shaw.*****
The Shaw representative went on to say that they don't know how this telemarketer got my number. But the phone call I got definitely wasn't a telemarketer; they didn't try to sell me anything. I've notified Shaw again (this time in writing), and e-mailed the local police department (maybe overreacting, but it doesn't cost me anything).
Please spread the word: these phone calls are not from Shaw Cable. Don't give them any information (I certainly didn't).
If they call me again, I'll ask them to give me my account number and other details to prove they're from Shaw (or at least show that Shaw gave away/leaked their information to a third party).

- Ticked offI have a good idea what this is. It's not shaw. Yesterday my bank (and several others) contacted HUNDREDS of customers and had to cancel their debit cards because of a confirmed fraud. When I went to the bank to replace my card, the teller told me that she'd already replaced between 30 and 40 debit cards for customers at that location alone, and the overwhelming majority of us had recently shopped at a local 7-11 convenience store. Since she was able to verify that this was something we each had in common, I would say that every one of us have now been put in touch with the scum who'd like to do a bit more than copy cards. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE CALLERS. Caller ID PXCLID NAME, call received January 8th, 2009 around 3PM PST.

I just received a call from this number today. They claimed to be Shaw internal sales. I called the 800 number on shaw's website, and customer service confirmed that internal sales does make calls, and they do ask for credit card info / blank check (in this case for the digital box, since the offer was for free cable). They even had a note on my account stating that I had been called. If in doubt, just ask for a number to call back, and phone a public Shaw phone number. Better safe then sorry.- Caller: 866-858-7429

- screwed-beforeI've been a victim of a similar fraud; the difference was that they called me and claimed to be from Rogers and told me that there's this nice plan, blah blah. In less than a month, around $1500 was charged to my Rogers for new lines and expensive cell phones. I can't remember if I (stupidly) gave them any important information but I trusted them as far as I can remember.
Now, I'm getting calls from this god damn PXCLID and this reminds me of what happened before so I never answer. If it's important, they would leave a message. Besides, it's a policy that these companies do not call to ask for personal information. Even if they do, you should always ask them to give a call-back number, otherwise, you are risking your ass.
Lastly, how difficult is it for some official (Police) to track these [***]? I wonder! - ZibbyI'm getting this call too! It seems I am not alone. My theory on why some see shaw and some see PXCLID NAME is that people who are trying to scam us are using some sort of scrambler so this bogus number shows up and shaw's network pops it up as 'shaw' for some reason. Has any shaw users seen PXCLID NAME show up? Has any.... say Telus clients seen shaw on the call display? I won't be answering this.

I'm really regretting adding my name to that national DNC list, as that was apparently hacked. - AllieThis number is from the SHAW Cable “Inside Sales Team.” I contacted Shaw Support Online to complain about the frequency/unprofessionalism of the calls. Here is what I said:
I changed my phone number with SHAW because I was irritated at by a large number of telemarketing calls. I have it as unlisted now. Now, several times a week, I get a call from 866-858-7429, a telemarketer who, when they speak, offer Shaw promotions, asks questions etc. However most of the time they hang up when the phone is answered and they never leave messages. I want these calls to stop. Harassing your customers is not the way to keep business. How do I make it so this number will stop calling me? Thanks, Allie
