got a call from this number asking for people i do not know

These people don't know my proper name pronunciation, keep calling and don't specify why they're calling. I don't return calls from people who don't state who they are.

I figure if someone calls you and you are curious, you need to call it right?

These people called my NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR looking for me.  I barely know her, and out of the blue this morning she comes over to tell me "Annette" from 866-862-2793 x 3448 had called her house, asking for me, and then insisted my neighbor take a message even though I don't live there!!! Now that's weird!

7-21-08 - Allison Moran @ 866-862-2793 also at 210-525-1355 and 210-348-2718 - the "urgent" call involved "a possible legal matter."  My phone caller ID listed the originating number as 000-000-0000.  Has anybody seen the south park wheel of fortune "NAGGER" episode???  Allison Moran is a low life debt collection solicitor from San Antonio, Texas.  If they continue trying your number, and you have a "no solicitations" message on your answer service, they are breaking the law and you can report them to your phone company and your stats Attorney Generals office.  *** NOTE:  These people also called my work and my work neighbor.

MAYBE IF YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT YOU WOULD KNOW THAT THEY CAN'T LEAVE THAT INFO ON YOUR VOICE MAIL.

George Grouper called my mother and grandmother looking for my x-husband whome we havent seen in 2 years.  What a dumbass.

They may not be able to legally leave this on a voicemail but a) the people who buy out-of-date and discharged debts, and many of the people who claim to be legitimate, do -- you should do some research on the realities and not just the rhetoric and check for yourself -- they even robodial it and frequently use computer-generated text-to-speech in an attempt to bully people without getting any legal consequences of their own actions, b) they cannot legally call and talk to people whom they believe to be relatives or neighbors, either, but they do, c) J Martinez said they got the name wrong; are you claiming that they cannot leave the name of the person they are calling? If they were really someone legitimate they would have the correct name and probably pronunciation, and d) even when people have invoked their rights by the FDCPA that calls at work are inconvenient or not allowed, they continue to make them. I have read literally countless cases of these types of behaviors.

They try to use people's shame at their misfortune to try to bully people out of money, but the majority of collection agencies out there are not employees of the firm to whom an original debt may have occurred, they are primarily lunch- money- bullies- but- older who have used legal and illegal means to try to phish or threaten money from people, often (but not always) on old debts. Do some research (you don't even have to get up from your computer); this racket is by and large not what it seems.

This lady called asking for an entirely different person. I think her name was Alison or something like that with an extension of 333_. My caller id shows "INVALID NUMBER 000-000-0000"

Based on what I'm reading on here, some type of collection agency. Well, I have impeccable credit. So they obviously are fishing so to speak. Bunch of annoying idiots.

They are just debt collectors they can be hardcore but just avoid them they will take everything you have if it means they get paid for the job.

A woman named Devon has been calling my house for days looking for someone named Michael.  The number she calls from is (817) 381-4293, but the number they want Michael to call is (866) 862-2793 ext. 3313.  When I called back to say that no one lives here by that name, she told me that she was a "family friend" and had been trying to get in touch with Michael for days but that his phone had been busy.  She said that he is my neighbor and gave me the address of a few houses down the street from me.  She asked me to take a message and put it on his door so that he could call her back.  This person is obviously stalking entire neighborhoods - not just the person with the debt (or whatever) - otherwise, I don't know how she got MY number and address.  This is ridiculous and irritating to have these types of calls come to my house.  And I am registered on the "Do Not Call" list.  Seems like - from the information posted here - that this is a debt collecting agency.

I get a call from this number daily for past week. I will not call back anyone who cannot state purpose or name of agency.

I too got a call looking for my son in laws father.  I called the 866 862-2793 number and the man that answered said it was CC Services and his name was Christopher Cook.  He said he could only talk to the intended person about a personal matter.  Told him to take my number off his call list.
