    This company who says it's Lowes has been calling us for months. First when I answered it sounded like a collection agency & actually asked for a relative who hasn't lived here for 7yrs., when I gave them the info., they hung up. My phone gives me the message that this is 1-800-Service calling & I've tried to answer & leave them a message & now it says it's Lowes, come pick up your order! Who is this & why don't they get the message, that we're not interested. They call this number about twice a day. This has become a real pain.

    I got 2 missed calls from this number today, funny things I actually DO have something on special order from Lowe's. I'm not sure if it's legit or a concidence but I'll stop by the store tonight and see if my item has arrived. I don't plan to answer calls from this number.

    I got two calls from this number while I was home. I didn't answer either one. I do have an order in with Lowes, but if it is truly them, why didn't they simply leave a message?

    This is tooo funny!  I wasn't answering calls from this number because I didn't recognize it.  I looked it up and when it said it was Lowe's, I telephoned it back, in which it really was Lowe's calling to let me know my special order was in.  They really should just leave a message.

    It's Lowe's.  There are two possible reasons we could be calling you; one is that it is the automated system telling you your order is in.  The other is that it is a live person calling you to survey you regarding your special order experience with Lowe's.  The automated system should not leave a message, as it cannot detect the end of your recorded message, so you would only receive a portion of the message YOU need to get and wouldn't get the entire message. Also, the company periodically audits the automated system, by having a live person call you after the automated system fails to reach you.

    Then your name pops up on our order management screen so that we will call you personally.  We are REQUIRED to keep trying to reach you personally; leaving a voicemail and then forgetting it is not an option.  And you'd complain WAY more if we didn't call you.

    I got the same number on my caller ID and I did special order an item from Lowe's.  When I answered, it (the automated system) hung up, so naturally I called the number to find out who it was.  The recorded voice on the other end said that if the number showed up on the caller ID, then my special order was in and that I should contact the store I wanted the delivery taken to for pick up and further details.  So, yeah, it's ligit.

    I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, but my answering machine does. I started hearing that my special order was in, so am glad the call was received.
    Too bad Lowe's does not use a number that will be displayed. Looks like a lot of people are having the same problem.

    I placed a special order last night, Wednesday, and confirmed on the phone that it had gone through. Also that it will be available about Monday next. Today,  I get a call from 866-864-4664 saying the order is in, call the store. I call the store. The sales guy isn't in. I talk to the asst. store manager, who finds my order, and confirms it's scheduled for 2/9/2009. I ask, and he says he will find out why they called, and why they can't leave a message. I get other auto dials that do leave their stupid message, like "If you want to lower your interest rate..." and junk like that. Seems to me that if the answering machine goes silent for a few seconds, and a tone comes on, that it is really really really simple to start the message they want to leave. Dumb and dumber, although I like the store.

    By the way, re my previous comment, if you get cell phone solicitations, and determine that a particular number is junk, here's what I have found effective. Create a contact in your phone for that number. I call mine Ignore 1, Ignore 2 and so on. Select the ring option to be "No ring." In my cell phone I can put about 4 or 5 numbers for each contact. Right now I have 14 contacts in the phone   like Ignore NN. That's about 70 callers who never even get my attention. My phone also is set to speak the phone number/contact name if I want it. Imagine my feeling of conquest if that feature is on, and the caller name announced starts with the word "IGNORE"!!  AC

    I had an automated message, but it wasn't complete and no details were left.  I did have a special carpet order pending at Lowes, and my had arrived.

    The salesman called last night from Lowes to tell me my order was in. I went to the store and picked up my order. When I got home 866-864-4664 had called. We I entered it into my computer I got this site. So that is who it was!!
