been getting multiple calls from this number for past 2 weeks, at least twice a day.  never answer, never leave a message.

The company name is actually "Minacs Worldwide Inc."  One of their call centres is located at Purdy's Wharf, Lower Water St., Halifax.

Still calling ... being annoying....

hasta cuando hay que soportar tanta molestia!!!!

This idiots call my phone 3 or 4 times a day I see the number on the call display and do not pick up the phone, but it still anoying to have the phone ringing for nothing ! I consider it a gross invasion of my privacy because I didn't ask or authorize them to call my phone and it is my private property !

Because I'm an Aliant customer I get to be bothered by these people.  Being an Aliant customer is my first mistake........ Fool me once.......

You can call this number back. You get a menu with a selection that allows you to put your number on their 'do no call' list.

You ignorant cretins. What makes you think you have the right to continuous
interupt a family's precious time with your invasive activities.

Perhaps your time would be better spent as moving targets for our military,
or as landfill in the rebuilding of the middle east.

This way, we could ALL benefit, and 1 more irrelevant activity could be eliminated. If this is not a viable option, please insert your member into your anus and leave the rest of us alone.

I called the number back and requested that my number be taken off the call list and it said that it would take 3 days and they may call you again they called me back and I answered and it was Alliant calling to thank me for using their services and to welcome me to their services and see how the services were running. I found it annoying but it did stop once I answered and told them that everything was fine and to take me off the calling list.

googled the company and found their 888 number. Phoned and got to talk to a receptionist. Instructed her very clearly that their calls were unwelcome and unsolicited. She took my number and I made it clear that one more call would result in a complaint to the crtc.

I called back and removed my name form list and it lasted a week or so. The calls have started again only now there are 3 times as many a day. I am fed up. This is Aliant's responsibility? Couldn't the company be called? We pay enough for the use of a telephone, why can't we block calls somehow? if someone was knocking on my door incessantly I could put a sign out that says no soliciting or complain to the police about harassment. Having a phone should be no different.

They never answer when they call me, there is someone online and I can hear noises in the background then they hung up. I called the listed number and the only response was a message that it was a number for conference calling.I am not interested and I find it very annoying. If it is run by alliant--shame on you. I have to call star 69 at a cost to find the last called number.Do the math for thousands of bogis calls to individuals that do not have caller ID. Wrong people in jail.

They call several times a day to see who is home at what time of day, it's like a marketing thing. When you answer your number is "marked" as being home during that time period. Then they sell that information to other companies that call you during that time to sell you [***].

i m reall getting sick and tired of this ppl calling me even on weekends nite.. i mean wtf is wrong with this ppl. if they dont wanna call and talk then why even bother calling me 4-5 times a day? can't government do something to stop this insanity to its tax paying citizens. its been like this for the past months and driving me nuts

Have had too many calls from these hacks...don't answer them, but like other responses above, I get several calls, one after the other, evenings, weekends, whenever they feel like it.  I have an unlisted number, so I would definately like to know how this company got hold of it.  All that displays on my caller ID is Unknown Name, with the # 866-879-5172.  As with other callers, I wish the government and/or telephone companies (to whom we pay exhorbitant fees)would put an end to this invasion of privacy!

I just called back on put my # on the do not call list too. Ill see how long that lasts, if it does anything at all. Im with Rogers so its not just an Aliant thing, started calling me a month or so ago.

Hahaha, I'm calling from that number. Minacs is the company, Aliant and the Toronto star operate on those numbers. WE do not dial, the computer dials, and the way the computer dials is through the request of the Client, not the people on the phones. Half the time (can't speak for the Toronto Star) people being called by Aliant are spending to much on Long Distance and Aliant can save them money; or the call is to just inform you of promotions going on within the company. If you ask to be taken off the Calling List, it is ANY company's legal responsibilities to remove you from that list, if your patient enough to here the operator out, the calls about that specific subjest will stop. Not answering the phone causes the computer to put the number at the bottom of the calling list. If that list is small, it regenerates the call back quicker (something should be done about that, maybe a call back in a couple of days or something). And the reason there is no answer immediately when you pick up the phone is because the computer has to register the fact that someone has answered, then send the call to the next available operator to continue the call. I hate marketing and sales, but I gotta pay the bills, its easy, entertaining and temporary. Some people are soo uptight and don't exercise common sense when dealing with little issues like telemarketers. Sheesh.
