Claims to be American Express - Wants me to identify myself and give bank account number.  But they get stressed if I ask them for further ID.  Also hard time trying to understand them with foreign accents.

After nearly 2 hours on the phone being transferred from one area to another with the true  American Express, I am being told this is an American Express number and they are verifying information for the Government.  I am so upset with American Express right now!  Do they really think people are just going to blurt out tax numbers, bank account numbers, etc. to someone who is hard to understand at best over the phone?
Too much identity thief going on as it is!  They don't need to make it harder on the public.  I would think a formal letter with specific questions should be sent out by them rather than this type of phone call.

The Caller ID says Toronto Canada, But the person says the call needs to be returned by AZ time and they keep giving me a different ref number every time they call.
