- Ofelia in TexasA company call me an my cell #, sound like net bend and also they want me to input a card number. Thats right it does sound like a scam. It happen just now. I was wondering if this company calls offen to any of you?
- Caller: net bend or next bend
- Jersey cityGot a call on 5th May asking for my debit card number. Looks like a scam.
- Sandra Limathey Left an electronic message asking for my "pre-paid card number" so they would connected me to someone else (???) I don't have any pre paid card --- I am sure it is an scam. Today , having a cell is a problem more than a benefit. Everyday we are bombarded with numerous scams. I am thinking - as soon as my contract is done - I might get an inexpensive pre paid phone only to make calls and text - and use my iPhone to talk to my family and close friends.
- Caller: Card company
- ChrisJust got the call at my office phone. Seems they use a dialer or something similar. They claim to be netSpend (spelling according to website), a prepaid debit card company. The caller ID number and netSpend's customer service number do not match, so I imagine it's a phishing scam. Remember, no reputable company will call you directly and ask for account numbers - only if you call them.
- Caller: Claimed to be netSpend
- Amy in Mesa AZYep - got a call from these guys today on my cell phone. They were asking me to input my pre-paid debit card number to get connected with someone who could handle "this matter." Obviously a scam! I don't have a pre-paid debit card, nor would I enter ANY card number as a result of a call like this. No company calls and asked for your numbers...if there is an issue, they always ask you to contact them directly
- AmberThis number is not a scam. I got a call from them yesterday about potential fraudulent calls on my netspend card. I called them back at the number listed on the back of my card, not the number they gave on the voice mail. They told me of a couple of suspicious transactions on my card - which were in fact fraudulent.
I agree with anonymous's recommendation: don't call the number on caller ID, and don't call the number that they leave in the voice mail. Call the number on the back of the card, which is guaranteed to be legitimate.- Caller: netspend
- MystifiedDO NOT PICK UP!!! Why would anyone answer an unknown long distance number??? NEVER engage them in conversation OR ask to be "removed"! That will put you on a list of "good numbers" And NEVER call back! If you do, you are "doomed" to repeated calls. VOIP (voice over internet protocol) internet phone service allows scammers all over the world to call us using a "spoofed" (fake) caller I.D.s If you block one number they will just "spoof" another one. Many are in a foreign country. Just ignore them!!! And don't use your name on answering machine or voicemail. Just use your phone number. Expensive call-blockers will not stop them (new "spoofed" numbers). Reporting them to the gov't. will not stop th em (foreign soil). And asking them to be removed only makes it WORSE. It's an epidemic.

- ALIn TX....Caller left automated voicemail. Message asks for call back & enter your NetSpend card number. I do not have any card that remotely sounds like NetSpend (I assume this is what the message said, not sure if NetSpend is correct name).
I have no idea what this card is or what it's used for. Never heard of it. They shouldn't be calling me. - JoshGot a call telling me my prepaid Dept Card had been frozen wanted me to enter my 16 Digit Card Number, the message hungup automatically after they repeated it for the 4th time. Definitely Fraud.
- Caller: NetSpend
