calls and hangs up...

Calls and hangs up. A returned called yields a busy signal.

I received a call from this number on my cell phone while I was away.  I tried to call the number back, but every time I dialed it, the call automatically disconnected without ringing.  I have received a lot of calls that sound like they are coming out of India that start out with the person saying things like, "Hello, this call is to inform you that allegations have been made against your name and social security number."  I'm not sure if this was one of those calls, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I got the same call - no one on the other side, and when I try to call back, it just disconnects pretty sure they are collection [***] looking for my ex.

I keep getting calls from 866-948-0585 and when I answer, nobody is on the line.  If I redial back, I get a busy signal.  Who is this?  Does anybody know?  I am thinking...here we go again with the political calls!!!!!

There are so many of these nuts calling that I don't answer any of them. I don't care who they are, or why they are calling. ID says 800 service on a lot of them, but the number is different many times.

Calls often.  Never leaves a message.  Very annoying

Just got call. They didn't leave message. Wish FCC or someone could and would do something about this, especially for those of us on the  DNC state and/or national list(s).

Fourth ring, I pick up. No one there. 6:49 pm on Sunday. Who does that?

Several calls about 1 hour apart... one ring

First time I've gotten a call from this #. No one there...I listened quietly as they tried to disconnect multiple times and finally succeeded. Normally don't even answer anything labeled "incoming call." Won't again for a while. :)

This 866 # called me at 9PM when we were already in bed, wouldn't answer when I said hello several times, I tried to call back but it yields a busy signal!

Everyone needs to go to www.fcc.gov and file a complaint.  Stop wasting time whining about the DONOTCALL list as Not for profits/Surveys/Politicians/Bill collectors are exempt.  Stop making threats here because No Robo callers or call center folks read this.  www.fcc.gov!  If it is a collection agency then www.ftc.gov or www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov then go to www.fcc.gov.  It is illegal to have dead calls, it is illegal to call after 9 pm local time.

Those calls when no one answer is called a "cold call" what they are doing is checking to see what times of the day you are most apt to answer the phone. When you get these calls say hello once, if no one answers press the # signed repeatedly until you get a dial tone or the message saying "if you would like to make a call please hang up and try again..." This makes them think they have reached a FAX number and they will not bother to call you again.

First if the call has an area code, call the attorney general of that state and report the number. Next notify homeland security, federal trade commission they are tracking these numbers, and the federal communications commission. There are laws against this abuse and we need to stop this abuse.
