They are bill collectors. This must be a new number for them. They will use all the usual dirty tactics bill collectors use, such as calling relatives so that the relatives can call you and put pressure on you. They will lie and tell you you are "possibly" facing a law suit. Etc., etc.

This company calls & doesn't leave a message. When you call it back they don't identify who they are. If you wait long enough someone will answer & ask what # you received the call on. They ask if you're "so-and-so" but will still not identify who they are. They did ask for me by my name but unless they're willing to give a little I won't give any.

Have received a copule of calls from this # - recorded voice mail message from a "Miss Lee," asking for a call and and saying "have a nice day."  Actualy, caller I.D. indicates incoming # as 816/949-8504, but call-back given for this #.  I tried this Missouri/816 # with my I.D. blocked, but it is one of those which has automated operator voice indicating "not in service."  My experience indicates that a lot of telemarketers apparently have the capacity to use #'s like this to call - but cannot be accessed, and different 800/866 # given, as here, for callback.  I'll sometimes try back out of curiousity, blocking I.D. but usually simply ignore - as they are usually pesty telemarketers of occasional debt collection weasels, with old, incorrect or purely bogus info.  My feeling is that if anybody felt they had a legitimate matter to discuss, whether they felt you owed money to a client, or they wished to present a product or service for you to consider - if they left a mesage, they'd identify themselves and the essence of the purpose of the call.  Pure logic tells you that calls/messages like this outfit uses are either using a "boiler room/shotgun" approach, with autodialing and the like for some sort of old, often incorrect debt info, or to unload some sort of useless product or service - hoping that maybe 1 of every 100 dialings might yield them something.  With today's technology, even operations like this one can pester folks endlessly with little effort or manpower on their part.  Trying to engage legislators to curb this is a futile process.  The reputable, major call center providers contribute a lot to the politicians, and even though they may operate above-board, will knee-jerk oppose nearly any regulation to curb telemarketing - which enables these types of weasels to stay in business.  Sort of like the NRA, representing genuine hunting and gun issues, still opposing anything regulating automatic weaponry which no sportsman would ever use to hunt or for defense - sinply resisting ANY regulation, in their realm, whatever.
