Jerry Brunner at extension JB1 says he is from Verizon and wants us to renew our Centrex phone lines. I told him I have no idea what he is talking about.

I spoke to Verizon and they said it is indeed a Verizon number.  They are "telemarketers" who call people to tell them to renew their lines.

The supervisor there (at the 866-961-6684 #) refused to give me a mailing address for his office, and simply asked for a verbal agreement over the phone.  I think Verizon should reconsider the way they inform their customers of line renewal.

They just called and said they represented CenturyLink and that they wanted to review our account and save us money on bundling services.

I got the same exact call.  Someone from "CenturyLink" calling to renew our services and save us $.  The agent then sent a fax outlining their discount program and wanted me to send back a signed letter of authorization giving them permission to make all types of changes to our account.  The agent was very insistent that I send back the signed form within 48 hours. I am very suspicious about these types of phone calls so I called CenturyLink directly and they said that this company that contacted me "Business Solutions Group" is an authorized reseller.  I am not comfortable with giving control of our account over to someone, so even if they can save me $315 annually like they say they can, I think I will pass and not take the chance of creating a future headache.

We got the call and I questioned if they were a third party vendor and she said no. I asked why Century-Link was all of a sudden willing to drop our phone bill by $50 and she said it was because we were such loyal customers. The fax arrived and it states it's from Business Solutions Group, a CenturyLink Master Agent. I called the number listed 866-961-6684 and flat out asked her what Business Solutions Group is and got the 'master sales agent' line. I asked her if they were part of Century-Link and she said no.  I suspect this is just the scam I thought it was from the start, they switch your long distance to some third party product and then you're stuck.

Centurylink contracts out most of their sales and customer services to other small business. They were called Partners, but now called Channel Alliance members. If you get a call from one, you can work with them. They will need signed paperwork for Centurylink to change anything. They can't just get your OK on the phone. This is a scam. There are people that will claim they are Centurylink and tell you something is wrong with your long distance and needs your ok to fix it. This is a scam.

If you want a lower rate, it is good to talk to a Partner or Telecom Broker. Just make sure what you sign has the carriers name on it.

got call and message from the number 866-961-6684 message was that it was urgent that they speak to someone who handles the business account for phone #***-***-**** (they repeated the correct number) and asked that I call the toll free number and then a direct extension to speak to someone directly for this account.  I do not talk with people like this as my account and update is always mailed to me in Nov.  I think this is a scam as they have called everyday.

Received a call from Fayla? from the Business Solutions Group at CenturyLink about contacting them to review our contract with CenturyLink, etc, etc.  I am skeptical of anyone who calls out of the blue since we've had these types of calls several times and you always have to ask several questions to get to the fact that they are NOT CenturyLink but cleverly disguise themselves as such.  Deleted that message pronto!  

Be very wary of anyone trying to mess with your phone service.  My boss has been scammed when he tried to "save money" and it took me months to sort that one out!

they call on all three of our business lines at least 3 times a week. repeatly we've told them no. They won't give up. Been scammed once before, don't know what i can do to get them to stop calling!
