toll-free-number.?scam number. want to know who or address.

Whoever they are, they are impersonating every agency from IRS to Police, to City Hall, trying to get someone to answer the phone. What gave it away to me was that the Indian chick couldn't even read her script right with her tick and broken accent and yet her message stated that she was an IRS lead criminal investigator. I wonder if IRS has such a title?

said they were IRS but idiots could not even speak however did not like coming home to nasty and threatening voicemail, hope their busted big time sick of these intrusive morons!!!!!!!!!!!!

These people called my daughter. Threatened her with loosing HER house because I filed my 2009 - 2013 taxes wrong.  Put everyone in a panic. The more I questioned the nastier they got. Don't know what they were after but they sure we're persistent.

received a phone call from this number a person answered saying they were with the irs  FYI  THE IRS DOES NOT MAKE PHONE CALLS THEY MAIL OUT LETTERS

I've been playing their game back at them and call them non stop all day. They have asked me to stop calling them

That's funny.  I keep getting a guy named "John White" who works at the IRS in San Diego.  I keep calling him and he is getting pretty upset at me.  Oh well.  I'm off to make another call to "John."  :)

Yep, some kind of serious identity theft ring calling from offshore, sounds like India or China, impersonating the IRS and the police.  Does anyone know who to report this to?

Report scams to I.R.S. at 1-800-366-4484.  They have gotten 90,000 complaints so far.

This guy called out of nowhere and left a message that I couldn't understand. All I could understand was IRS due to the thick middle eastern accent.  So I called back close to 5 times finally got an answer and they said I owed $1987.00 in back taxes from 2009-2013 taxes. I kept asking for somebody that speaks better english.  The more questions I asked the more irritated and mean they got. They actually hung up on me several times after I caught on to their scam. They are very persistent.  Dont fall for it. Got to the IRS website and they have a form to fill out to report the number. It also has a list of all of the big scams that have been reported

I just received a phone call from the so called IRS agent too.  I could not understand his Indian accent and after listening to his story thatI I will be sued for everything I own, he said he could take care of this matter if I paid Him $1952. I asked him questions regarding this matter and he told me it is "confidential" and they can't answer.   I told him I will be speaking to my attorney and he said that he will be filing the lawsuit against me immediately!  I too went to the IRS website and they do not make phone calls.  iIwill be reporting this scam to them.

Received call stating they were from the IRS. Sounded threatening in nature.

Just received a voice message from these people.
Could not understand much of what was being said except that they represent an attorney and I must call them back or deal with the result if I chose not to do so.  Basically a threatening scam call. Pretty sure if there was actually legal action taken by anyone, I would be served papers and or a summons on official letterhead, not a bogus phone call fishing for personal information.  Nice try..

Also, the heavy Indian accent was difficult to understand, and he apparently didn't speak English fluently.  Figured I'd check online to see if this was a scam.  Thanks people!

Same drill.  Just got the same message and came here to see what was up.  Just another thing to deal with in the age of electronics.

Just got my second call from these scammers, this time it was a recorded message.  I didn't know the IRS could hire so many people from India :)  Anyway, this seems to be fairly well-organized scam, which is probably sitting off-shore somewhere.  Do not give your information to these people, they mean you financial harm and they are not from the US government.  

They called my cell phone and said they were the IRS and I had fraudulent activity on my tax returns.  When I called him out and asked why the IRS was calling my cell phone.  I know from past work with the IRS, that is not how they do business. He said a registered letter was sent to me in May.  I knew that was a lie because there was no one in the house to sign for a certified letter during the day.  What a scam!!!!  Makes me sick that people like this pray on unsuspecting people threatening to file a law suit if I didn't pay on the phone.

Third time receiving the call, same people, called them back and told them I am underaged, I do not own a home nor do I file taxes and they have been reported to the police and the IRS as a scam. I may have taken it too far with the comments I made to this woman but I've had enough

this idiots have called me 8 times running. sometimes at 3 AM that call got them a nice air horn. They need to find a real job and stop making threats about me losing my "business" which i dont own a business stupid worthless idiots.
