- Simon| 4 repliesIt appears to be a Bank Of America number and was a "Courtesy call regarding a credit card.". I called the number. The rule of providing information to random callers is DON'T. Unless you went looking for information and called a number that you knew was legit then don't provide any info. The person I spoke with did not ask for any information. I was not going to provide any anyway. I was told to call the number on the back of my card if I had any questions. That part of the conversation I appreciated and agreed with. End of conversation.
- Caller: Bank Of America

- Andy| 7 repliesThis is a *** FRAUD *** caller. Do NOT give out any information.
Got a call today from this number. The guy claimed to be from Bank of America and indicated that it was a courtesy call to provide me some details about my credit card. He then said that he had to verify my identify and wanted to know to date of birth. When I said I wasn't going to give it to him, he said that it was understandable and asked me to contact the number on the back of the card if I needed anything and hung up.
I called up Bank of America and reported this. They indicated that none of their agents had called me. - AndyThis is a *** FRAUD *** caller. Do NOT give out any information.

I called up Bank of America and reported this. They indicated that none of their agents had called me. - Sara replies to Andy| 5 repliesHow is that fraud?
- Ashley replies to Sara| 4 repliesIts fraud because its not the bank calling. Its someone who has your information and is trying to get more of your information. This leads to stealing your identity if they get all pertinent information.
- FalconI got the call and didn't answer it. They left no voice mail, which is my filter for returning a phone call. A bank, IMO, would at least leave an automated or personal message on your voice mail.
- joe replies to EddyI just had the same number called me. Some guy. Said he's from Bank of America wants to verify my birth date. I told him I cannot give him any information since he called me, he said thanks and hung up.
DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY THING OVER THE PHONE! - JoeA male caller. Said he is from the Bank of America. Wanted to verify my birthdate. Tried to sound official by saying my name. I told him NO INFO will be verified or given over the phone as I do not know him and that he was the one that initiated this call. He said thanks and hung up.
DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFO OR VERIFY ANY THING ABOUT YOURSELF over the phone.- Caller: "Bank of America"
- sueI received call on my cell. called back cause I missed the call due to a poopy diaper change. Only info I gave out was the number they called me on (wondering why they called) she confirmed it but other then that I didn't give out any info. She asked/ told me if I knew about my (new card) and it's features. There is no need to continue conversation if I did,but if I have questions I can call # back of my Card. (and yes we did apply and get a new card, so that part was legit for me) I told her I am fine and good for now. I presume it was just a courtesy call. With no other info given I should be fine. At least I hope. I will keep an eye on my acc's just incase though.

- LincoGot this call at 8:30 pm. I did not answer it. No messages.
- Kumar| 2 repliesI called back to this number and later to another number printed on back of my credit card, both confirmed that it was a call from Bank of America. I am not sure how people are simply getting hyper and writing what they imagined.
I recieved call from this number i spoke to them and it got dropped in between, when i called to BOA customer care using number from back of my card they confirmed that yes i was called today by one of their call center and told that call was dropped somehow; that makes me confident to say that it is a legitimate number. - NOT THE BANK replies to Kumar| 1 replyI just called Bank of America. THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE NUMBER - Bank of America does NOT call to ask verification of your information, when you give someone your information, you are disclosing all your information to a stranger who pretends to be with the bank. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION - USE COMMON SENSE !!!.
IF YOU CALL THIS NUMBER - OF COURSE THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT THEY ARE FROM THE BANK. - Kumar replies to NOT THE BANKBank of America will not verify the number but they confirmed that i was called from them.
- Joe-RoselleParkNJThanks. I got a call from this number at 12:15PM Thursday May 28th. If it is a Bank of America number, then I would have told them I like Bank of America. There is no harm in that comment. Others
comments are proper and similar. If it is NOT; they got the number from your web-browser ; and the web-databases that cross-check phone numbers ( i.e.: when you have browsed the net with your smartphone ) . For me, the only other thing they know is that I use Bank of America; but no other personal information or account information. I delete cookies frequently, and I always login in a "secure" manner. Thanks for the "heads up" . Take care. Use an << OLD >> liscence plate as a password. Joe.- Caller: Bank-of-America-???
