This is a VOIP number issued by a reputable company, Ring Central, Inc, of San Mateo, CA. The caller is not a law firm or collection agency, just amateur scammers. Contact them to complain about their customer is 888 528 RING. They have nothing to do with this fraud. VOIP is impossible to trace, virtually every customer gives phony contact addresses or a Mailboxes ETC. address, and VOIP means they can plug the number in anywhere in the world and call you. If you can't get them to stop, give them your work contact number (look up the local state police, FBI or Secret Service local numbers and give them one of them). Never confirm your name if you actually speak to them. There are thousands and thousands of these scams and they will never end. Protect yourself. Contact ring central VOIP they  are using for fraudlent puposes. They have an open case against them. Andre was very helpful 877-510-5787. FBI has been contacted and is involved as well. PHISHING... Good luck

They cannot attach your Social Security wages, without sending a letter the the SS government. SS has to be notified first. Scammers.

got a call from this number saying it is about check and they are going to contact the police if I do not call them back. Do not have a checking account nor have had one for several years now. What do i need to do . The number that is calling is 877-206-8031 and ext. of 325 and 718. Thanks, Maria

I received a call today from an '800' number.  An automated message asked for me to hold.  Then some jerk asked for someone I don't know.  Wanting to put a stop to future calls, I asked for their name and the name of the company.. Before I could even finish my question, I was interrupted and told 'it doesn't work like that.' And that they are the one's asking the questions, and that by LAW I had to answer him.  Being in a work environment, I took a break and called this number back.  The rest of the conversatiom was, let's say- would be censord here.  But before that part, I insisted in speaking to management about my initial call I received.  All the while, this btch proceeded to talk over me as well.  Having enough, I let loose. She then attempted to hide behind 'christianity' now that it was convenient for her.  Call me again btch and get another earload.

Received a call referencing my best friend, how they had my number as his is mysterious, anyway, the guy I spoke to wouldn't tell me anything about why he was calling, just that they investigate check fraud, etc. I know neither me nor my friend have any "check fraud" issues. If this company were legitimate or worth their salt they would send letters, not make shady phone calls.

People aren't stupid. We know when you're one of their cronies.  It's written all over your lies.

THEY ARE FRAUDS.  Their address is a UPS mail store PO box.  Their phone number is VOIP.  If you wait long enough, you'll continue to get calls from other numbers as well.

Contact the Atlanta Better Business Bureau, the FBI and the FTC.  Report them as illegally harassing you fraudulently.  They are scammers.  They will threaten you with lawsuits, jail time, arrests, court dates....whatever it takes to make you sweat.

Like the other poster said, give them all the information of your local Law enforcement authorities, as if it were your phone number and address.

They never send you documentation of any kind; not what they claim you owe, not a receipt for any money you pay, (and PLEASE do not give them any money)....not anything legitimate.  They will use any tactic to scare you into giving them information, so be on your toes and do not give any personal information out to them.  Tell them they can get the information when they send you the legal documents, and you let your lawyer look them over.

My household received almost exactly the same message as noted in Nancy's comment.  *They* apparently called - "important" - about the "business I am conducting"....  Yeah, riiiiight....

And yes, it's interesting that the only comments in this thread (as well as in other threads elsewhere discussing the same phone number) which purport this all to be true and valid, are written without proper mixed case letters, employ improper or simply bad grammar, usually lack a majority of (or all) punctuation, are found to be missing words, and make inordinately excessive use of clumsy abbreviations -- collectively all the earmarks of a non-native speaker of English.  Combine that with the reports that this number is a VOIP line, making its source potentially anywhere in the world, and you have at least the first 3 or 4 red flags of: "Scam!" flying in the breeze.

Had a missed call from this # 1-877-206-3013,so I called the number back and it just kept ringing no answer
