called my home phone asking about my business - tried to call back to see who they were and got a recording claiming they get their numbers from Dun & Bradstreet.  I was given the option to remove my number and when I followed instructions, the recording said it had been added. Added to what I don't know.

They call & speak like an uneducated goof.  I read posts that recommend keeping them on the phone to run up their tab, but I can't do it.

Same group called my phone, really freaked me out. Asked about my business and said that they could see i was about to drive off, keep my hands on the wheel and they will call back later. Are we being watched or was that guy just a creep?

Called me 3 times in a 5 minute period. Asked to speak to the owner of the business. I told them not to call me anymore and they'd call right back. Sounded like an uneducated black guy on the phone.

Yes!  He asked for the owner of the  business was in and I said no.  He said that wasn't appropriate response that I could have said he wasn't available.  I told him to beat it and hung up on him.

some of these telemarketer companies use a computer program that dials numbers in numerical order so being unpublished is not a preventive in those cases.

Called my work cell # - when I answered some uneducated bowery boy mumbled something then hung up.

lead call from dunn and brad - but call back and it gives you an option to remove your number

Called every day this week and left no message- saw the previous post that you could call to be removed from the list.

This company was identified as Apstar Financial - in which they purchased leads list from Duns and Bradstreet -

Called October 6th, at 1:55p Central time. I didn't answer.

Told these scammers if they wanted to retire early and in good health, to take my number off their scam list. We shall see

PLEASE BE AWARE: Dunn & Brad is the company selling your information to these companies!  I called D&B directly and got the run-around big-time.  One woman with a very heavy accent told me they had no records on the company calling me, put me on hold for 10 minutes, then told me there were no supervisors and to call back later.  

I called back a half-hour later.  I told this woman the same information, that we are on the National Do-Not-Call list, that AppStar Financial called me and hung up when I asked to be removed, that the call-back number lists D&B as the source for the call list at AppStar, and that I wanted to be removed from any call lists D&B has (both internal and for sale).  The woman ("Jane") said they were doing nothing illegal and simply collected our information when someone requested it and kept it on file to match us with products and services.  I asked, "So, telemarketing companies pay you to find phone numbers to add to their lists, and you are using that as justification to sell our information to anyone who wants it?"  She continued to say D&B was doing nothing illegal, and I made it clear that they were helping their clients to break the law by calling someone on the Do-Not-Call list and I wished to be removed.

Next thing I know, I'm (finally) talking to a supervisor and they are processing my request.

Be persistent!!  If they know you won't go away, they'll eventually listen.
