this company is calling my work asking me to verify my social security number and birthdate. when i refused, they wanted to speak with human resources...who won't provide that information.

They have been calling my cell phone looking for someone else in my family. When asked, she indicated she was with General Revenue.

Since my number is on the do not call list and this has nothing to do with me. I filed a complaint.

When this company asks to verify SS# or birthdate, they do not ask you to supply that info to them; they have the info and simply ask if it is correct so that they know they are only giving out confidential information to the proper person. Instead of complaining be grateful that they aren't out there telling everyone on the planet that happens to have the same name as you that you don't pay your bills.

Damn Sally, I've seen you on all the sites that are complaining about this company. Doesn't General Revenue pay enough? You obviously work for them or you wouldn't be defending these scum bags. I know they're scum because every respected web site I've come across dealing with unscrupulous debt collectors have mentioned them. Do everyone a favor and go back to doing internet porn

No one should confirm their social security number over the phone with anyone unless they've made the call and they know who they are speaking to.  So no Stoopid Sally (and you must be working for them), we shouldn't confirm anything on the phone with someone who calls us.

This company only asks people to confirm the last four digits of a SS#, why is everyone beating up on this Sally Chick? She sounds like she knows what she's talking about. Pay your bills, folks, and you won't have to worry about it.

They called my number earlier today with CID blocked AND left NO MESSAGE; I had to push *69 to find out who was calling...........which listed as coming from Cinncinati, Ohio and some unknown phone number

Tonight, they called w/unknown caller showing on CID asking that I return their phone call immediately to 877-217-3319; their message was so fast that I couldn't understand a word they said w/out listening to the message several times to get the whole message! They claimed to be General Revenue Corporation calling about some Federal Student Aid.........
My student loans are all in Hardship Deferment beause I just had major surgery last month.............SO.........I have no idea why they are trying to call me!

I have absolutely no delinquent accounts nor have I had any for something like 15+ years butI just received an agressive/menacing message as well. They used my name (which is somewhat common) and also a previous married surname which uncommon. So what the hell?

I would like this number 1-877-217-3319 to stop calling my work place giving everyone an attitude.  Natasha keeps calling with a very bad attitude, threatening.  She is asking for the payrolls number but no one will give out information.  She is rude and upsetting everyone in my agency.  My job requires me to be in and out of the office all day.  I do not often have a chance to answer my phone but when I check it and it has no detailed message, I need to take care of the important issues of my clients first.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL EVERY DEPARTMENT IN MY AGENCY!!!!!

I have learned by experience, that the louder a person talks (or yells ) the more stupid they must be.

and if a caller is phoney, they (he/she) are "phishing" and when you confirm the last four digits of your "SS#" they have, they confirmed your name with your "SS#". Then, "they" now will have your identity for their own use.

Sally-Beth (oh looky a sock puppet!) -- I get these calls all the time -- for FOUR PEOPLE I DON'T EVEN KNOW.  And no matter how many times I tell these a**holes, that there is no person by that name at this number, that I've had this number for FIVE YEARS, and that they need to STOP CALLING THIS NUMBER, they call again a month later anyway.  So don't try to make it sound as if these calls are all legitimate -- because that's just total bu***hit.   I've also had calls from collection agencies for debts that had been paid YEARS BEFORE.  And they don't care... they keep calling anyway.   I can send them proof of payment, and all they do is sell the fake "debt" to someone else and a year later I get calls for the same non-existent debt.   I ask for proof of debt and they tell me they're past the date when they're legally required to send it.... well then a**holes, you're also past the date when I'm legally required to send you any information from my end too.... so go spin.  I actually had to google my own phone number and get it removed across the internet with those other people's names attached to it -- took me HOURS of hassle to do that.  And a few months later those listings cropped up again.  In the meantime, ONE of those people was listed at another address and number -- did ANY of these lazy-assed collectors bother to look?  NO!

Make whatever excuses you want for yourself -- your industry is fully of wanna-be bullies who accomplish nothing more in life than to harass people.   Quit scouring the internet looking for ways to justify your bull and get a real job.

They called me and said they wanted references for my daughter's sister in law.  I know they are collectors and totally misrepresented themselves.  I don't know how they got my number but they do not need to harass anyone.  My husband is dying of Cancer and I don't need this type of aggravation. They would not say what company they are.  I am submitting this number to the Attorney General.

I just got one for my ex-husband's second ex-wife.  They told me she listed me as a reference.  Like that's gonna happen!  Told them I didn't know how to get in touch with her so then they wanted my ex-husband's info.  I'm sure it was debt collection (but she didn't say so) and it isn't the first time. Intellus lists us as related, so I'm sure they must be buying the list.  I told her to remove me from her call list.  Like that's gonna happen either!
