Young sounding man asked for a woman.  I stated she did not live here.  He asked if I knew where she lived and I responded no.

They are a collection company who buys old accounts or should I say buys credit card for pennies on a dollar like J C Penney and Company what u owed once is now triple the amount and when you have no job they put a lien at the county court house at the county where you live

Agency is Capital Managment.  I work in law enforcement and several collection companies have been calling my work nextel asking for a 'John Smith.'  

This company was actually very professional.  Once the called and asked for "John Smith," I informed them that was not his number and asked to speak to a supervisor.  The operator put a supervisor on in less than a minute, a Jennifer.  I informed them of the situation, and they stated they would take my number off right away.

Much better than PRI, which was argumentative and refused to stop calling, even after I identified the number as belonging to law enforcement.

I got called from 8772196608 yesterday. He was saying that he was calling from collection agency and i got to pay for gasoline money. Sound was really strange. I replied him that i would never like to own small amount of money. i asked about the person u looking for. He said that he was looking for john. Once i replied him that he did not live here and immediately he said that then this is patel home. So, he must have known about me before he called me. Once i requested to talk with manager. He hung up phone. My phone number in do not call registry. Still i am getting this kind of call.
What can we do?

After receiving repeated calls to my voicemail with just silence recorded each time, I finally called the number.  There have been two numbers with Capital Mgt as their name and they both reach the same people it seems.  They were very professional when they answered but but then the woman sounded like she was smoking a cigarette and having dinner while she was talking to me.  I asked if they were Capital One, she said yes, what is your card number?  I knew they were not capital one already and so I asked "You're from Capital One and you want my credit card number?"  And she said yes.  I hung up.  She was just fishing for an account number or credit card number.  This scam goes deeper than annoying phone calls and that's why we've recorded calls that we made to them from my next door neighbor's place here in NYC - the police station.  They were interested.  Just to let you know - throw them off by asking them if they are representing a credit card and give them any old name and credit card number that starts with the correct 4 digits.  You will learn a lot during that conversation if you pay attention.

I've gotten the call twice and they ask for a Julie.  I said no one here by that name and asked the last name.  It was my ex-husband's last name.  We've been divorced over 20 years.   I'm just curious what's going on.

They called and said I defaulted on my VISA and when I asked what VISA she said she was going to repeat herself and said she was going to call my job and then hung up.

Got a call from them and no message. Called back and its Capital Management so i hung up becuase i have no idea what they are. I just got this number a few weeks ago. They called back from another number and they left a message for some other name.

I got a call on my cell from them last night and they had my personal info including my last 4 digits of my SSN which concerns me.  Guy was nice for 2 seconds after he informed me of some outrageous amount I owe on a credit card with some company that I never had a card with.  When I told him that he got testy with me and I told him I would have to check my records he said I will call [employer name] and see what they have to say and hung up. What is up with this?  I am very concerned that he had all my personal information and his tone was quite threatening at the end.

This company called my phone several times in one day.  Every time I picked the phone up... no one was there.  I finally called the number back, a message came on and said "please wait for a representative"  When the person camon on the phone, they wanted personal information.  I told them to go to hell alone with some other comments.  I am tired of people selling my name and number and then getting calls from these low-rent-freeks.  I have to change my number again!!

They call me and then hang up when I answer - about three times in the last two days.  I am going to report them to the Do Not Call registry.

Hung up when answering machine came on.  Caller id gave this number and "Toll Free Call".  We just got rid of one low-life collection agency looking for the wrong person and now it looks like another bunch of morons are doing the same thing.  This is harassment and I wish it would stop.  By the way, these jerks are exempt from the Do Not Call list.  What a joke that is!

I tried return a call from them to get details on  why they are calling....such as account #, balance due, and address, but they would not disclose any of the information, however, they did proceed to be abusive and demanding.

Can anyone give me the address associated with this number?

They have called me twice, the first time they left a voicemail but it just sounds like they are at a bus stop or something I can hear wind and someone talking in the background and the other time was at about 8:30 this morning which naturally I was sleeping but they didnt leave a voicemail.

I have paid a firm to clean up my credit report as there are a number of things on there I did not understand and did not have the time or knowledge on how to research the items and have them removed from my report.  Since several weeks after hiring this firm I started receiving calls from this company daily...  I have no idea who they are but it must be in reference to some very old items that are being researched and contested with the credit bureaus... When they call I send the caller to voice mail... they have yet to leave a message.

This number calls at 8 in the morning! I thought they BY LAW had to wait til after 9 AM. I'm not aware of owing any outstanding debt, but if there is one they will get nothing until the early morning calls stop.
