Got a text from these guys today "free msg from citi. press send now to call 877-253-7139 about your accounts. To end alerts reply QUIT. 7920 NW 110th St., Kansas City, MO 64153. Google search lists them as Citicorp Credit Services.

And there is a charge associated for this reply.  Thats a scam.  Dont call.  They would be looking to obtain your information and if you reply QUIT, dont be surprised to see a 9.99 charge on your next phone bill

I received the same text. Sounds like a scam. I'm surprised to hear that the number is registered to Citi Corp. I'm going to call the number on my credit card instead. I would not risk calling a scam number or replying to that text.

I've been getting voicemails from people claiming to be from citi bank. I never responded and blocked the number. all of a sudden, now I'm getting text messages from the same people - claiming to be sent as "free msg from Citibank. please call 877-253-7139 about your accounts. to end alerts reply QUIT".

it's not a scam.  citi manages the credit card for home depot.  if you're late on a payment for the home depot card they will text you from this number.

Received this after I blocked the calls i was receiving from 816-420-4632 (requesting a similar message) EVERYTHING I have read says this is a scam. I did call the number to see what it said. Company references themselves not as CITIBANK but as Citi----something... "affliated with Citibank" or something of that nature... wanted me to enter in my account number - I hung up. My accounts are all up to date and there is no reason CitiBank needs to contact me. 100% a scam, I just wish I knew how they got my phone/name/information....

This is a Scam number. A machine/A Rep asked me to provide SSN, name and address!!!
Totally a scam. When I asked them what is the call about? They could not tell. I said you txt me, you know my phone number, yet you don't know my name and acct info? They started to crack up and becomes very rude.

This is not a scam this is Citibank or Citi (i.e. if you look at your bills Citibank calls itself citi cards..)
However instead of calling this number,I called customer service and they connected me to an account specialist and she and I worked out my account.

This number will call you if you are late with payments!!!  Just call the main customer service number.
Also, my rep. said these calls/messages would stop if I get another call tomorrow I will call customer service back.

What if the person they list is not my name"?

Ive gotten these texts, also...though, i find it "amusing" that its normally right after i make a payment-- NEVER before, even if i forget to pay by the due date (yes, ive been a few days late on occasion, so i expect them to contact me-- but right after i pay? Really?)

Same here blocked the calls and now they leave a msg which I immediately erase so now the are texting me
