I called the number back after several calls, and it is the American Diabetes Society and if you listen they give you the opportunity to opt out of the calls.  They already have the number so no issue with entering it in again in their opt out menu

No one is there if you answer and they don't leave a message. ADA again.  They will try anything to get through.  They use several different numbers.  It is a good cause, but they don't stop. I will not donate just because they won't leave me alone and I can't give to everybody!

    Annoying calls 
Fact 1 - The DNC list CLEARLY does not work, everyone should knows this by know!
Fact 2 - Filing a complaint with the FCC does not work, a total waste of time; done that.
Fact 3 - Having an unlisted phone will not help you.
Fact 4 - Asking/begging telemarketers to take you off their call list does not work!
Fact 5 - No "class action" suits are filed and certainly, this is not a remedy.   Many of these telemarketers are in other countries and out of the jurisdiction of the USA.
QUIT BEING FRUSTRATED over Telemarketers-Scammers & Bill Collectors HOUNDING day after day!
*********DON'T GET MAD – HIT BACK!

    **********PURCHASE A CALL BLOCKING TELEPHONE!!!
Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones.  They’re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd wireless handset, and they work beautifully!  These phones also block “PRIVATE”, “OUT OF AREA” and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!

Yes - this is an ADA phone number.  I answered (for a change) at 8:35 a.m. and a very polite man asked if I would be willing to solicit donations from my neighbors.  I declined and asked him to remove my number from their list.  He apologized and said it would be taken care of.

I saw the number on the caller ID with Unknown Name so I let the answering machine get it.  I could hear some man saying my last name several times but he hung up before I could answer the phone.   It makes sense now if this is ADA because I did the neighborhood thing a few years back for them and they won't leave me alone. I am extremely busy this time of the year and explained that to them but the just keep calling several times a day.  This is the first year ADA has not shown up in the name so I am happy I checked the number here first.  I give to charity but I do it because I want to, not because they hound me to death. The charity loses out using these sneeky tactics like unknown name on the caller ID.

Thanks for the information.  I called the number and asked to be taken off their list.  Can anyone tell me what the SVC initials are with the number.  The last time I got these initials with a call wasn't for ADA.

I've received several calls from different numbers (877 numbers) and they all seem to be from the American Diabetes Association.    I wonder if they fully realize that they turn donors against them when they do this.   I'm routinely blocking numbers now when I answer and there is no one there.  And I agree with whoever said the Do Not Call listing does not work.

ADA number.  HOW TO GET RID OF THIS INCESSANT CALLING:  Called the number--recorded voice asked me if I wanted my number removed - please press 1-- did so--then asked me to type in the full phone number I wanted removed-- did so-- it then asked me to validate the number by pressing 1- did so-- recorded voice then said that every effort would be made to remove number within a couple of days, even though federal law allowed a maximum of 30 days.

As I understand it, non-profit organizations are exempt from DNC lists. So the ADA isn't breaking any rules.

I have received two calls in the early evening from this number. When I answer I just get dead air, like a college radio station.

One thing that I've done is route the numbers to one of the numbers that call all the time, this helped for a while, several number have been block and routed to others that wouldn't   stop calling. Let them call each other...See how they like it.
