CAlled looking for someone other than who lives in my house.

they called me repeatedly looking for a different person each time...
i think they are billing a creditor for every attempt at collecting a debt from said person,,, even though they know that person will not be at the phone numbers they call......  what a scam !!
... if you are a creditor,,, i would not use this service for collecting debts from overdue accounts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Voicemail from Credit Protection Association - looking for Thomas Jones?  He must have had this # in past because I get a lot of calls for him!

This is nothing but some sort of scam looking for people not affiliated with my cell number.

Got a call from this number at 17:09 EDT on my wife's cell phone.

I called the number back and it answered to Credit Protection Association (CPA).

Called me on my cell phone asking for someone I never heard of and cost me $.50 to listen to a message they left on my voice mail on 5/28/08.

message: call in reference to an imporant item related to my credit.

I keep receiving calls from this number. I even called back to report that this wasn't the person they were calling for and the guy basically hung up on me.

I received this call  twice on my cell phone, and as with everyone else  they are looking for someone else. Does anyone know how to get these people to stop?

When I call the # back I get, "Credit Protection Association."

This number has called my cell phone several times which I have had the same number for 10 years. I never answer toll-free numbers on my caller ID because it is always a telemarkerter. I don't owe anyone money

I've been getting calls since February 3 or 5 times a day from them thinking that I'm a different person. I realized it was a fake thing and that these people were trying to [***] with me. I asked to speak with their supervisor and they acted like they didn't understand what I was talking about and I heard people laughing in the background whenever I'd ask any kind of question regarding their establishment. And they said they would erase my number from their database several times but they never did! It is soooo obvious that they are fake.

But, I may have found a solution:

If you prank call them enough, they will promise to never call you again and replace your phone number with all 1's. I called them like 60 times in one day and about 20 the night before. I told them that I was returning all their phone calls. :) And they've finally stopped...for now.

And by the way, you can't use the *67 on them to hide your number because they know how to trace it.

If you want them to stop, email info@creditprotect.com with the account number they leave on your voicemail and write:

Under the guidelines invoked by the Fair Debt Collection and Practices Act, Title 8, section 805, this letter instructs your company to cease all audio and document collection activity regarding the above account number.  Furthermore, I dispute the validity of any claim made.  The debt, in which CPA claims, is not due.

Most people don't realize that, according to the Fair Debt Collection and Practices Act, you can tell any collector to stop contacting you and they must do so.  Most people complain when they get a call from a collector.  All you have to do is send them the above letter and they will stop.

I got an automated call from this number.  The call was not for me.  They wanted a person with a different first and last name.  I think the call was about that person's credit so my best guess it was debt collection.  I hung up when I knew that the call was not for me.

Or if our completely broke like me, and never going to be able to work again use Google Voice as your number and simply mark them as spam from all their numbers. It messes with their heads nice too, I dont get worked up anymore abou creditors as there is literally nothing I can do except wait to die and they dont even believe that. Goodtimes!

They call me at 9pm asking for somebodu I do not know.  I told them if they call again I will foward their call to the police.
