received a call from this number. the voicemail stated that this is your home owners insurance company calling (of course no company name left) its a scam do to the fact i dont even own my own home. i have renters insurance, but that bill isnt due for another week. lol these guys are ridiculous. hopefully this stops.

As other person mentioned, Homeowner's crap... I don't own a home. Don't answer this number, it's a recording not even a person.

the recording was kind enough to leave a voicemail of every possible recorded message that their machine can aparently use. I also do not own a home.

This is Progressive/homsite home owners insurance, it is a call to remind you that your bill is coming due.  I called the number back.

They called my cell phone then hung up as soon as I answered.  When I called back, I only received a recording about setting up a new policy.  There was nothing identifying who they are.

This looks to me to be a hefty sign that these people are not legitimate.
