Someone called and told my mother she had won $5000 in the readers digest sweekstakes and to send her photo so it can be included in the October 31, 2010 publication.  He gave his name as John Peter Lewis and also mentioned she could get a free 3 day, 1 night cruise to the Bahamas.  I reported this to Readers Digest as they say they notify people by mail.

why dont they have FRAUD as one of hte headings by this company... for Call Type!  get with reality!!!!

My mother in laws been getting harassed by these people about winning 2 million dollars. They called talking about being on there way to our house to escort her to the bank to get the money. we have to change our number now so they will stop calling us. Were also thinking about making a police report but i dont know if that will do any good. By the way every time me or my fiance get on the phone they either cuss us out or hang up! im tired of these damm calls

Scam!! They tell you that you are a sweepstakes entry finalist for $5000 then try to sell you some magazines.  Its a legit business if you don't mind buying cheap magazines at high costs lmao. These people have no morals or compassion for others like all SCAM ARTISTS..

i got a few calls from this company and i had not been a subcriber for Readers digest for a long time.
i was told that i also won a mens and a womans watch and that i had to pay for the shipping. i told them i was not interested in that part of it. they wanted to know what credit card i would use and they told me that i was called by them cause i have good credit and that i been a cardholder for a long time. i dont even have a credit card at the moment so i dont know how they would get my name.
the first time they called me i told them i was not interested and than some one else new calls me the next day and told me the same thing as the day before. i dont even know how they got my cell phone number for cause im on the no call list. it was such a let down, they are making people think they are winners and all they want to do is sell you some magazine.

Rc'd a call from the above phone number. The woman said her name was Courtney and she was calling from American Family Publishers. Told because of my previous magazine purchases  I had won a sweepstakes for 5K. I was also offered the opportunity to order some magazines. I declined and was told if at any point I wanted to reorder to call back.
Told it ( the 5K) was scheduled to be delivered  on or go  out on Oct. 31, 2012 . Now Nov. 10, 2012. I have not seen or heard another word from them.

they call wanting me to give them my debit card numbers to buy a news paper called usa weekly.and tell me I am in a drawing to win 5000.00.

Got the call from this number a couple of minutes ago.  I asked the guy  where he was from, meaning what business because he didn't announce it, and he told me where he was born and raised!  Moron.  Then he proceeded to tell me that I won the sweepstakes!  I told him that I didn't enter any sweepstakes, and he told me that I was a liar, that they received my entry this morning.  Usually I get SCAM calls from 876 area code.  Don't fall for these callers.  People from legitimate sweepstakes don't EVER ask for money and they never call.  Ever!

Don't believe one word American Publishers or any other company they may call themselves.  If you didn't enter a contest, how in the world can you win?  It's just common sense.  These people keep calling me and I don't pick up.  Register your telephone/cell numbers on the do not call list.  If they keep on bothering you, tell the police.

Just received a call from this 1-977-291-9802 regarding Sweepstakes Winner notice.
certain this was a scam call for magazine subscriptions. However, like other calls from this number a Peter Wilson called to tell me that I had won $5000 and someone would call later today with confirmation! I am on the NO CALL LIST. I will report this call and surely hope someone puts a stop to such fraudulent practices.

Just got a call from USA Finest. The rep named Jacky started with I am in the finals for a $5,000 cash drawing and that I never entered. I hung up.
