    Ugh
This is the phone number for NCO Financial, though they have a bunch of other names that they go by. Basically if you're getting calls from this number, you're in collections and they are trying to get hold of you to pay up.

You are legally allowed to ask them not to call you, and then they'd have to send you letters to your house instead. If you want the calls to stop, answer the phone and request that they do not contact you by phone.

I have advised their Operator Several Times to remove me off their list but they continue to call and ask for someone I do not know or never heard of.  I guess next thing to do is change my number.  :(

Caller ID is Toll Free Call. It is NCO FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, INC 507 Prudential Road, Horsham, PA 19044. Fax # = 215-442-8253. President = Mr. Michael J. Barrist, CEO email=michael.barrist@ncogroup.com. Director Legal Compliance Department = Ms Lisa Signor email=Lisa. Signore@ncogroup.com. CIO = Stephen Elliott email = Stephen.Elliott@ncogroup.com. Attorney & EVP = Joshua Girdin email=joshua.girdin@nco.com. They are a sleezy collection agency specializing in trying to collect very old debts known as time-barred debts which are barred by law from being collected via any legal means since the statute of limitations to sue the debtor in their home state has expired. (5-7 years in most states). Lacking legitimate means to collect the debt they use trickery, intimidation & lies to get people to give over their bank acct. or cc numbers to pay bills from 5, 10 or even 20 years ago.  They call anyone with the same first & last name to try & collect whether they are the debtor or not.

I wrote here in September, that they repeatedly call me. Now I get calls at home and cell phone. I reported this number/company to FCC back in September. Just got another one and I listened and a recorded message said "This is XXXXX@@@@@@.com, can't remember what email address they used, and I just hung up". Who calls you and tells you their email address?

I usually just answer and lay the phone down for a while. This way it takes up their time and thats less folks that these sleazebags have to call others.

Seeing the email with CEO and Attorney's names below,  I have written a letter to both my Congressman about this type of unsolicited nuisance. I included the names provided by "bugging me" in Dec 2010 and asked my Congressmen to advise me what I can do to be a nuisance to NGO, the CEO and their so-called "Attorney", as they are to me.

I looked up the Horsham Township Police Department phone number and reported that I am getting harassing phone calls from their number. Waiting for them to get back to me, they said they would look into it.

Mike - Former Debt Collector & trainer
I have been reading these posts and replies and wanted to help out. I use to be a Skip Tracer, Debt Collector and I trained skip Tracers and Debt Collectors in FDCPA Laws and regulations. i was in an auto accident and became disabled and now I am usually in debt and I don't like dealing with Debt Collectors and made it a personal game for myself to mess with them as much as possible.
First and foremost - ANY and ALL Debt collection companies can only call you one time per day. Some states vary on calling times but the average is between 8am and 9pm. Most of them try to stretch the laws and will not leave you a message because then they have legally made contact with you and cannot call you again until the next day. If you were to answer your phone and just keep them on the line for 15 seconds, then they cant call you again until the next day. You don't even have to say anything... just listen to them get worked up. If they swear at you, that is illegal and you are able to Sue them. If they call you before or after the legal calling times for your state, you can Sue them. If you can prove they called you more than once a day and as a result you feel harrassed, you can Sue them.
Next, if they call you they will ask for the debtor. Do NOT give them an answer. Ask them instead " Who is calling and what Company are you with?".  They are required by law to give you the answers or, they are in violation of breaking laws. If you have a cell phone, create a group in your contacts lists and title it do not answer. Assign it no ring tone or set it to silent. Make sure on your voice mail or caller ID that you identify yourself by name in the recording and state that this is the home number and only number to reach you. That is considered a Good Contact number and will prevent them from calling relatives.
If a debt collector calls you -Debt Collector not to call you is if they call you at your place of employment. This is called "Ceasing the Debtor". If you want them to stop calling you at home, you have to tell them in writing to cease all calls to your home, friends, family and neighbors. Then they can only contact you by mail. Also, if you do this, make sure you sent the letter as certified. It costs a little extra but provides you the proof you sent the letter. Also, get everything notary public and make copies.
Most people in debt are not aware of these collection Laws and in turn make the collectors get away with it. You have more rights then they do. You can verify everything and read about more laws by going to the FTC (Federal Trade Commision) Website and clicking on the FDCPA links or just do a search for FDCPA laws (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).
Hope this helps!! Have fun pissing them off.... I know I do!!

Just a quick note on your post. There is NO statute of limitation on any debt. A Debt collector can call you for a 20 year old debt. They can also garnish wages, and file judgements against you or even take you to court. They normally won't just because its a waste of money. How it works is say you owe Citibank Visa a bunch of money. They spend a long time and a lot of effort trying to collect from you. If it is unsuccessful, they will put it aside. Usually it will go to another collection agency and even a couple of others after that. The account will go through Skip Trace who's job it is to find the Debtor and make contact. Then it goes to a Collector and they try to collect all over again. After so much time has passed, eventually the original creditor in this case citibank Visa, they will sell your debt to a 3rd party collection agency. Now your debt is owed to them. They bought your debt for a very small amount of money and are going to try and collect the entire amount owed. Eventually the will send you settlement offers which will gradually get bigger and bigger until finally they are willing to settle your debt for up to 80% of the original amount owed. This can all be verified from the Federal Trade commission Website and the Fair Debt Collection Practices act.
  • There is a statute of limitation for the amount of time they are allowed to sue you to collect a debt.  They can continue to call and contact you but they cannot sue you after the statute of limitations has expired thus they are unable to collect after that time.
