- dip_dap| 2 repliesNumber just called me at home. Didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number.
- Caller: unknown
- kc replies to dip_dapthey said they were the American Heart Association wanting for me to send envelopes to neighbors.
- Billye DIf they'd identify themselves, people inclined to help might answer. But this incognito approach to calling won't work at my house.
- Caller: "Toll Free Call"
- isisthis american heart association has so many numbers that they call in on and never leave a message. The call first thing in the morning and at the very latest at nite and still no messages. and as long as they do not identify themselves as the american heart assoc. I won't answer the phone.
- Caller: American Heart Association
- petmommyIF I answer the phone, I ask them to repeat their company they represent. Most of the time, they hang up. If they do respond, I turn on my recorder. Then I say, Oh could you please hold while I turn on my recorder! They will not know if you have a recorder or not. Unfortunately for them I do!!!
I am now using to talk to ANY Creditor, including my OWN bank - too many have lied, when I repeat what I have been told by someone else.- Caller: unknown
- MHansonThe number 877-353-1611 keeps showing up on my caller ID. CONSTANTLY! As early as 8am on Sunday and as late as 8:30pm. They never leave a message. I finally decided to pick up the call today when it came in to tell them to put me on their Do Not Call list. When I picked it up and said "hello" it was dead air........so they random caller equipment isnt detecting a live person.......now I am really ticked. If this truly is the American Heart Association it is sad that they cannot identify themselves as such. Not very productive and now I will not contribute a dime to them if this random calling is how they use our donations! BAD PR!
- Caller: Dont know for sure
- T. MauerI have been getting calls from this number for months. When I "do" answer, I get a "click" as if they've hung up and then a dial tone.
- Captn PeteI use the tele zapper and it dumps the call as soon as I pick it up................ works with all these unwanted calls
- Caller: 877-353-1611

- Caller: 877 353 1611
- JJConstantly calling me but no one is ever on the other end when I answer.
- Nathen| 1 replyAnnoying caller begging for a donation. Since I am on the DO NOT CALL list, these calls are illegal and most certainly unethical. Why are these people not in prison????
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Barney GOOGLEI Got a call from that 866- number (again) this AM. Guess they're just trying to record:
1. Whether or not I'm at home
2. If I answer - it means that I'm 'an easy mark' (SUCKER)!
So - just WHO buys this dishonorable & clandestine telephone service from the PHONE COMPANY?
1. A telemarketer, charity or terrorist organization - all looking for a handout?
2. A home burgler who is trying to discover when I'm not at home (making me an easy mark)
3. A government organization - collecting data about me and my living habits?
4. A telephone 'programmer/hacker' with nothing better to do than disrupt and victimize innocent people?
If we just understood the intricate programming capabilities of the computerized telephone network - then we might have some answers to questions like these (and more, like the questions you ask).
(Don't look to the phone companies to reveal what their strengths and weaknesses are - remember that they're only here to make a sawbuck or two or? ANYWAY THEY CAN and at anyone's expense).
Maybe it's time WE changed our ingrained telephone habits - such as:
1. Not answering any call that we don't expect. (OH - but I might miss something IMPORTANT)!
Really? Any legitimate business that needs your attention will send you USPS mail if they REALLY need to conduct business with you. You can decide if it REALLY needs an answer. You are under NO OBLIGATION to expedite an answer to anyone for any reason, sans your local police.
2. GET CALLER ID - it's real easy to install or it likely comes with every NEW cellular telephone manufactured these days. And when that phone rings: READ THE INCOMING PHONE NUMBER BEFORE you pick up. Don't continue to be a 'SUCKER'
3. Consider getting rid of your old hardwired telephone line by replacing it with a cellular phone. That's when YOU are in charge of deciding to answer or not - as every cellular phone has a caller ID.
Besides, Cable Internet is MUCH FASTER than any 2 or 4 wired device from any telephone company.
4. Be smart when it comes to answering to outsiders (such as telephone charities, thieves, crooks, politicians, alien invaders, terrorists and hemeroids, etc. - they're all in the same category).
If the telephone is dictating your living habits - then maybe it's time to take charge of your life and cut out that annoying nuisance. When you're no longer LISTED in ANY of their phone lists (such as 'do not call' or otherwise) it becomes nearly impossible for anyone to impose upon your personal time.
If you get a cellular phone - list it with a MAKE BELIEVE NAME (not your own name). THEN, call all the people who are important to you and tell them your new phone number. Now you'll not miss any REALLY IMPORTANT CALLS (and the telemarketers, collection agencies, and our illustrious GOVT won't be hounding and wasting your time).
Don't remain a victim of the old MA BELL. Enjoy your new freedom with a cellular phone listed as 'Anonymous' to anyone YOU place a call to.- Caller: Who cares?
- PhilDid not recognize number on caller ID Unknown. has called several times before
- violeti wonder if all these collection agencies are all connected and use the same numbers (to get around the do not call list) because one time this was the heart association and one time this was breast cancer awareness.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- American Heart Association| 2 repliesPlease know that the calls you are receiving are part of the American Heart Association’s Dear Neighbor campaign. We are reaching out to caring people to volunteer to send letters to their neighbors in February. If you would like to volunteer, please answer our call. Or, to have your name removed, please call (877) 353-1611. Thank you!

- HadEnoughSince October and November daily, no message, at all times even today after I had reported to the Gov. Do Not Call list over 31 days ago.
- Don't fall for this! This is NOT the true American Heart Association that tries to prevent heart disease and related problems. This is a bunch of scammers who have adopted a similar name in order to dupe honest Americans who actually want to help find a cure for disease into contributing hard-earned dollars that will never go to any sort of research or programs of any benefit other than to the criminals behind these calls. It does not matter if you are on the do-not-call list.... these criminals will call you and will try to convince you that they are following up on a promise your spouse, or someone else in your household made to help them. Do NOT give them any personal information and ABOVE ALL do not give them any credit card info, encourage a meeting with them or send them any cash. This is NOT THE REAL DEAL.... just a bunch of two-bit hucksters who are trying to scam you out of your money for their own personal gain. This is not the last call you will receive from these scum. They are continuously changing and adopting new numbers so even if you block this number they will call you again from another 866 or 877 number - two they are fond of calling from are 877-213-2767 and 866-619-5010. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!
