I dont know how they got my cell phone number and texted me, but each text costs me money and I'm mad about it.  This should be illegal.  Unsolicited texts that cost me money and make my service provider money.  very angry.

And getting a "better plan" as the other commentor mentioned will not take care of these scams/scammers. The phone company needs to crack down on these people, but they will not, as it makes them money. It is illegal to call a number on the "do not call" registry. Make sure your number is listed with this government site and then make sure to report these calls (with their number) so they start to get the message.

Didn't visit any site.
DNC also stands for Democratic National Committee, so they are trying to look like them.
That's fraud.

I called the number, but they would only say that there was some affiliated partner with Wal-Mart, and that I had supposedly registered with my cell phone at one of their sites - all not true.

I think the scam is that they ask you to supply them with $3.90 so that they can send you the gift card. Whether you'd ever get it or not I'll never know, because I decided not to try it.
