877-448-1977

Originally received a txt message to my phone from 216-482-5599 (which is to some unknown cell phone in Cleveland, Ohio) which stated that I had won a $200 Walmart gift card and to call 1-877-448-1977. However, calling only resulted in a voice recorded message saying, "Congratulations" and then being put on hold with music. After 4.5 minutes the music stopped but the line remained open. I hung up.

I got an SMS with the text:
Hello,

We have a $200 Walmart Gift Card for You

Please Call 1-877-448-1977

Thanks for Visiting our site

i got the same txt message as alex and donald and when I called I found out it was a rebate form they send you and u have to pay 4.95 for also they sign u up for other things that ifu don't cancel they start charging he credit card number u give them for that 4.95 fee plus 9.95 a month if u don't cancel!!! forget that!!!!

I got the same call, answered and they wanted credit card history, hung up immediately

Got this too. My wife had done a form online with the same "offer". Does anybody know how to make the text messages stop??

Just got a text myself. Almost caught me off guard since I just applied for a job last week at a Walmart distribution center online. Searched the number first and judging by info around here seems pretty untrustworthy.

Got the same text as the rest of you. Thanks for checking it out! I signed up for an AirTran membership last night where I gave my phone number. I hope they didn't give it out...

Got a text msg from 877 448 1977 saying I had a $200 Gift card for Walmart and to give them a call.  Of course I didnt call!  My cell is supposed to be on the NO call lists. I will be reporting them.

Spam text message received on Verizon cell phone, allegedly from 727-481-4380, despite my number being on the Do Not Call registry.

I never give out my cell number for any commercial purpose, and never via any website.  Will report these numbers at donotcall.gov

The only thing I can think of that might have led to this was using this cell number to register for a Google Gmail account (requires a cell number to set up), where they promise "We will never use this number for any other purpose."  Hmmmm.

sent a text to my phone 3 x in a row- I get charged for text messages- it is not fair and there is no where to stop it

said he was Albert Alston of Clearwater Florida  address 3985 gateway Central 33760

Just got the same text message. I called and asked how they got my number. They said I had filled out a survey from Walmart or Sears or Home Depot and won a gift certificate for $200... Asked for my birth date, whether I owned or rented my home, my address, and then.... they asked for a credit card to charge the $4.95 for mailing me the $200 gift certificate. I explained that there is no way I am giving my credit card number to someone I don't know and cannot verify. When pressed they said they were from Alliance Marketing Group. I found an Alliance Marketing Group on the web and called them. They say they have nothing to do with this and that people are calling saying they received a spam text message and unauthorized charges on their phone bill or credit card. The company perpetrating this scam appears to be USA Benefits at 866-229-0947. I just called them and they said they are a discount shopping service and that they have "hundreds of marketing partners" and could tell me nothing about such a text message.  Their address is 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452. "Tracy" ("TDD") is their customer service manager.
