Ok. I have been receiving calls from this number for over two months stating that a male name Robert Diaz has a summons for check fraud. He gave me a case number, the above number, and a case number. He states he has been trying to serve me and if he can't I was notify and will be held accountable in court. After two months of getting the messeages, I finally called the number. The greeting states: this is The ACS Group; press one for an agent.... Well I press one and got a person who I can't remember his name. I ask him what type of company this is, he states a litagation firm. I ask him for what? He just ask do I have a case. I give him my name and he states I took out a payday loan and did not pay it back. I told him if its what I think it is, my bank account had a fraud claim where someone took out a payday loan in my name. I informed the man that I took care of that through my bank. He told me how can someone comment fraud by getting my email address. I told him I do not know but it happen. I ask him about what is the name of the company, he could not give me that information. He told me we can settle it today and not go to court. I ask him what would happen if I do not go to court, he said you could be jailed for fraud, or just pay fees and fines. I said ok. I explain to him again the fact that I took care of this through my bank because it was fraud. I ask him when is the court date, he told me he doesnt have that information; that information was located on the papers that the process server has. The he ask me to settle and I told him I will call my bank. He told me then I will see you in court. I said ok.
The next day this Robert Diaz calls my job. I told him I spoke to the company who hired him and told him it was fraud on my account. I moved from one place at the beginning of this year; Robert Diaz may have, not sure, been going to my old address. He found my new address but I denied I live there because I do not know who these people are.  He asked me for my new address, I told him I can't give out that information because it was my friends house not mine. He ask can he serve me the papers at my job; I said no because I will be fired. I told him do not call my job anymore. He said he can serve me at my job because he has the right to based on his job. I told him I already talk to the people who hired you and they will not give me any information so, I am not going to court without knowing who this person is. He said I will call them and get back to you. Then he ask me where he could reach me at. My mistake was confirming my cell phone number. In the end, he did not call me back. All, I know is that in NC they can't call you to serve you. They have to serve you by using the sheriffs office, delievery services, or mail. Also, they have to serve you within a certain time frame and if  you are not serve then you can't have a judgement place on against you. Also, they are suppose to provide you with the information you ask. If anyone figures out anything else about these people, I would appreciated. Bc when I search for them, there is not information; no address, no other number, nothing.
    Thank You

I took out some payday loans a couple of years ago and because I lost my job I was unable to pay them back. They just recently starting back calling me threatening me with a summons telling me someone was going to come and serve me papers and I had to go to court. They wouldn't answer any questions...they said either you get served the papers or give me your credit card information so we can put you on a payment plan. They wouldn't let me send in a payment OR make a one time payment. I told them I was not giving them my information and I was going to call the Attorney Generals Office/Dept.Of Justice. So after I called them and said I live in North Carolina they told me that since PayDay Loans are illegal in this state these people can't do anything to me and they can't take me to court to collect a debt in which the loan was illegal in the 1st place. So if anyone lives in one of the states where these loans are illegal I wouldn't worry!!!

I took out a loan like 4 years ago, although I just now am receiving any collection notices about it.  This company ACS called and told me that if I didnt pay I would receive a court summons.  I lost my job and could not pay the rest of my   advance off 4 years ago.  I have three kids and I dont even have a job.  I live in FLorida, which is pretty nasty when it comes to debt collection, and I have no idea what to do.  The company said that they had sent documentation to a former address, but couldnt send me any other documentation now because it had already previously been sent?.....I dont know what to do......I dont feel comfortable putting any kind of payment information through to a company who cant even send me some kind of hard evidence about the validity of this debt...I dont know if I am getting scammed or what....and I really dont want a court summons on my door either.....someone please help!!!!!!!!!!  I have looked all over the internet for this company, and all I can find is rip off reports and scam alerts......what do I do??????

I am getting calls from them, as well, and I have no outstanding debts. I wouldn't not give any financial information to them over the phone. If you want to make a payment to them, insist you mail it to them, and use a money order. Any business who will not accept a mailed money order is not legitimate, in my opinion.

Eric Hernandez called my sister's work number and home number looking for me.  He threatened her on the phone regarding service of papers and court for me.  I haven't had a checking account in over 4 years.  This jerk states it is regarding a bad check.  I know in the state of Colorado, the DA handles bad checks, so this guy is full of it.  It sounds like this is some sort of extortion or scam.

So whatever you do, do not give out any personal information to these people.  Especially, where your money is concerned.

I just got a call from them for my daughter.  The lady's name was Kayla.  She said she was trying to serve my daughter with a court summons.  When she called she didn't even ask for my daughter just said she was leaving a message for her to serve her.  She gave me a phone number of 877-470-5290 and a case number.  Now right off the bat I know that with a number like this, they are not actually with the courts or police/sherrifs office.  She said she was a process server.  I said "so your with the sherrifs department?" and She said YES!  I think there is definately something that the DA can do to people who pretend and actually say they are with the Sherrifs department.  Anyway I asked her for what company my daugter was being servied and she started stuttering and then said she could not tell me.  I googled ACS and I found this site and many more like it.  Thanks for all the information previously posted about this being a scam.

I too received a phone call from ACS.  It was really weird.  Agent 1 insisted that I use a prepaid VISa or MC in order to settle a purported balance.  I would not agree to his payments terms because he refused to verify the name of the creditor with whom I allegedly took out a payday loan.  Agent 2, lawyerlike in tone, somehow intercepted the phone call and started to intimidate me with criminal litigations.  I continued to listen to his outrageous allegations, and all of a sudden he transferred me.  Agent 3 threatened me with so dishonest ways that ACS would ruin me financially.  I hung up the phone.

I have received several calls about this same exact matter at hand. Infact, our entire family has received phone calls pertaining to my son in law whom they claim owe them money. In which as like the rest of you on here, he DOES NOT! I got into it with this guy that called only for him to "hang up" on me. Hmm, quite funny for a "Company" to hang up on someone that they are trying to gain money from!! Also, when you ask them their address they can't seem to give you one? What company, firm, law firm, financial, bank, etc. has no valid address? A scam, fraudulent one who does not exist is the only one that can not provide a valid address! I would LOVE for these jerks to come knocking on my door, hahaa what a treat I would have for them!! They (a valid company) do not CALL before hand to serve a summons to appear in court 1st of all, they just serve them! Hell, if everyone knew they were gonna get a summons who the hell would be home to collect it lol? How ditzy do they think ppl are? DO NOT GIVE ANY BANKING INFO. NOR INFORMATION OUT PERIOD EVER!!!
Under Pennsylvania Law, they are not allowed to do this and PA RESIDENT'S are protected. Call Banking of Harrisburg and report these and any other's who have contacted any of you!
    GOD BLESS YOU ALL <3

I too am going through this illegal wringer.I finally called an attorney who advised me to report them to my state's Atty General as well as the Federal Trade Commission. I was told not to interact with them and the best course of action would be to ignore at all cost. These greedy vultures don't even show up for court when you sue them for harassment or violation of FDCPA rights.  They buy another companies debt files and attempt to use the alleged amount owed to sucker you into paying something that will eventually end up on your credit report. If in fact you do owe the "said debt", obtain a copy of your credit report and contact the ORIGINAL DEBTOR to  take care of the matter.REMEMBER....process servers don't "settle", they just SERVE! This is immoral and illegal. Rest assured you WILL NOT go to jail or get a summons. Ignore the calls with a sigh of relief!!!!! I know I will!

Yes this is a legit. I paid my first payment then didn't pay my last payment and my county was going to summon me to court. So yes tracy I suggest you give them a call. They are very willing to help you even make payments. Everytime I have called they are friendly. But not the ones from the county that want to give you your paperwork to summins you! Don't deal with those people, just talk to the ones in ACS. Get it taking care of!

Tiffany I suggest you call your county court. If they don't have a summons for you, then I shouldn't worry about it, but if you do then I suggest you make your payments.

I ripped them a new one yesterday. The "process server" called me and threatened me, from an anonymous number no less, saying I was in trouble for intent to defraud. Last week when I called this alleged "company" they could not provide me with a contract showing my name or any proof I owe them anything, just a letter with NO emil or physical address claiming I owed the debt.

I tore Mr. So-called Server to shreds, I told him until I see a contract with my name on it showing I owe this supposed debt, I owe them nothing. I told them I wanted to see it in writing, and no BS. I told him too that the way they are handling this alleged situation is not the way an above-board company does business.

This is a violation of the FDCPA, and I have already reported them to my state AGO.

I received a call from these people on both my cell phone and my house phone (Kim Logan) left the exact same message both times as if she was reading from a prompter.  I called back and was advised that I took out a "payday loan" in the amount of $500 in December of 2007. I immediately advised "Mr. Curry" that this is impossible and I did NOT take out a payday loan in 12/2007. I asked him to mail or email me evidence of the debt and he told me that he was not able to do this since he worked for a process server and not the original creditor. I then asked him to provide me with the name of the original creditor and he gave me THREE different companies and said it could be any one of them. The number the Kim Logan called from was "Unknown" on my caller ID but the # that they left for me to call back was 1-866-410-4377. I basically told him that I would wait for the summons to appear in court after he repeatedly asked me if I would be willing to reach a settlement with them out of court.  I also offered to provide him with my current address to serve the summons and he wouldn't take it. I am not paying a debt that they can't even tell me who I owe it to...not to mention that not one of the 3 companies names he provided are licensed in the state of PA. See you in court buddy! I can say that if they start calling my employer, I will have a serious issue. I am pretty sure that their tactic is to harrass you, your employer, your friends, and your family members until you get so fed up that you pay. Well....sorry to everyone in advance but, I won't be paying without a court order! I also contacted the FTC and the Attoney General, they were both very helpful!
