Phishing scam.  Claim to be "Citi Client First - servicing a number of related accounts".  They will try and get your account number, full name and full social security number out of you.  Do what I did, call the number on the back of your Citi card and ask if anyone is trying to contact you.  I was told no and there was no such thing as Citi Client First (it's the name of an internal Citi customer service program but is not a division of the Company and noone works or makes calls identifing themselves as such from Citi legitimately).

THIS IS A PHISHING SCAM!!! PLEASE REPORT THEM! After calling them back with a different citi account ID # It turns out that they had my Home Depot account info so it seemed legitimate till something he said did not sound right. They could only set it up for the minimum amount due monthly not above the amount due which seemed odd so I hung up and called Home Depot. They had not tried to contact me about a late payment and somehow my auto payment had not occured but they did not know why.  It is my suspicion that whoever is out phishing may have caused this or knows about it so you can go online and see that your auto payment has not been deducted when it should have,,,,making it seem like a legitimate call. I hope someone puts these people in prison for ripping people off that are barely scraping by trying to make ends meet!

received phone call twice on my cell phone, no voice mail left. received call on home phone, he left message urgent call back. when I called the number back, recording said they were closed, hmmm, aren't the banks customer service security open 24/7? anyway, Armando from phone number 877-483-9183 x 249084 called me today and said my Citi payment was late. He knew my amount of last payment made and also my email address. He wanted me to pay by phone and I would avoid late fee. I told him payment was made and that I didn't feel comfortable. I'd check with my bank and get back to him. Call sounded fishy, so I checked online and found this is a scam, just as I thought. Everyone, be careful, call your bank and or Citi bank to make sure before giving out any info.

It is definitely Citibank. If you call the number, you will connect with legitimate service representatives.  If you are getting calls from them and you don't have an account with them, it could be that they have the wrong phone number in their system (yours) for one of their customers.

NOT a phishing scam. It is a legitimate division of Citigroup: https://www.payment.citi.com/citiclientfirst.aspx

If the person that you contacted via the number on your card told you otherwise, it's possible they are inexperienced.

NOT a phishing scam.  Citigroup manages a number of different credit card accounts, including Home Depot charge cards, which explains why they had your account information. Citi Client First specializes in customers with multiple Citi accounts, in particular, accounts that are past due. See this: https://www.payment.citi.com/citiclientfirst.aspx

NOT A SCAM. They call asking if you have legal representation for the account, which is required by law because they are collecting a debt. My card payment was 8 days late due to switching phones and no notification reminders carried over from old phone, and me forgetting about it due to daughter's surgery recovery. I paid my bill online immediately and they verified the amount posted. It is in their prolog to ask to place your account on autopay to ensure no future late payments happen.

Unfortunately it is not uncommon for debt collectors to call outdated numbers. This results is innocent third parties receiving calls for people they have no connection to. If this is happening to you and the company refuses to stop calling then you send a cease and desist letter by certified mail.
