Report a phone call from 877-489-1148 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- lilidacalled asking for someone i dont know and he got mad because i hung up on them before well no one answered when i said hello so he said i could of just told him that yeah right they keep calling anyways
- BethWants a return call from someone. Doesn't specify who they are trying to contact.
- Caller: Doesn't say
- samanthaI am getting those calls too. The call is from an unavailable number, and an automated voice telling me that it is an important call and not a solicitation or sales call. It instructs me to call 877-489-1148. When I try to call the number, it just rings and rings.
- Caller: does not say
- samanthaI just got an answer, it is from some company called CCA, but they will not tell me what CCA stands for or what their buisness was. It turns out they were looking for someone who used to have my number.
- Caller: CCA
- Norma J Ashmorethey called me with code and said i needed to call back. I called and was transferred and could not find out WHAT I was being called about after 2 people spoke with me.
- Caller: CCA but cannot say what CCA
- ScarlettThis just happened to me: I called in using another line, because it seemed odd. And the say CCA and it seems like a call-center then kept asking me if I had a reference number, or what state. So, I was transferred and it kept ringing. So, I called again and this time I was like what is CCA and the person goes well we are just a group of services in one building. I persisted with other questions and she hung up. Seems really odd. I looked at my cell phone and the original call came from a 708 number- which is in Illinois. I dont know!
- sarahCall from 877-489-1148 CCA Collection Company of America said I owed 41.72 from an At&t bill. (Which I still have At&t) I explained that to them and advised my bill is current. They said, "we will give you 5 days to pay or report to your credit." I got off the phone mad a hell and went online to my bank account, the only thing I could think og was when I moved and changed my number so I went back to Oct/Nov and sound the bill for that amount paid. I called them back and said I had proof of payment so they wanted me to fax it. Now this being from my online bill pay it had very little info on it, and I don't know these people and really didn't want to send them anything with any part of my banking info. But I did.... only to be called 2 days later at 8:30am by there auto caller advising me to call there office. When I called them back they said they didn't get it. Very unlikely since I have the confirmation it was sent. When I called At&t they can't confirm this debit and the compay won't provide anything, how do I know this is ligit and Its very scary to send people personal bank info when you don't know where its going. What can be done?
- Caller: CCA Credit Company of America
- frankThey called and left a reference number, but i never called back. We are current on all of our bills, so why bother? Just another example of the biligerent nature of collection folks. Many buy bills for pennies on the dollar, then try to ruin your credit if you don't pay them the full amount. I think we should all do what seems logical - if they don't provide me with the nature of the call, and exact information - then I will simply hang up. If necessary, I'll report them to my state attorney general.
- mj.They called and left a message and reference number of a tenant of mine. I called back the lady answered CCA and asked if I had a reference number. I gave it to her and told her that the person she is looking for does not live at this number and please take it off their list. She said she would. I do not know how they have my number as her contact unless she put it down or they got it off of her credit check application. So be careful, if you are a reference for someones credit check and these guys can pull the credit application it is possible that they get the phone number off that and call.
- Caller: CCA
- Pam HallMimi from a company CCA wont say what the company is. her extention is 3772. keeps calling work for mysister in law who is currantly on disability with lung cancer. i am not giving them anything unless they can answer any simple questions for me. any one had them call and for what.
- Caller: CCA Mimi ext.3772
- C. KerstenGroup is continuously calling my work phone. When I call and ask the number be removed, which I have done three times, the person answering the phone hangs up on me. When I called back to speak to a supervisor, I was hung up on again.
- Caller: not known
- JenniferThis number called my dad's house and said they were looking for my exhusband who I have been divorced from for 15years. I called and asked if this was a collection that may be from when we were married they said no that it was 2 months old and that he gave my parents number as a contact number. I asked them to take the number off their computers and gave them his number. I talked with a girl name Michelle.
- Caller: CCA
- ChrissyTried to call back and got hung up on several times. They were look for a Yasmin, I don't know a Yasmin. Told them to remove me and they just hung up on me. Called back and got the same person and told her to remove me again, and she just hung up. These people are horrible. I am sure they are unable to collect when they keep hanging up on people.
- Caller: cca collection
- bc456I received a call from a lady named Joan and they are no longer allowing thier phone number to appear on the caller ID box. It is illegaly to call people at their place of employment. the best way to address these people to submit a formal letter of complaint to you state attorney generals office and the attorney generals office of the state that the company presently reside.
If the attorney general of a state received several complaints for harrassment by concerned citizens then a lawsuit can be enacted by the various states. Several lawsuits have been filed against collection agencies for violating the state and federal laws.- Caller: CCA
- fed upI FINALLY HAVE ANSWERS!!!!
Ok folks. I've been researching this ALL DAY. Here's my story. First, let me say that we have NO outstanding bills. I have been getting the automated calls, (for MONTHS) to call back at this #. "Time-sensitive matter...blah blah." Well, the name is not mine. The account is not mine. Same first name, same town but NOT ME!
I have spoken to an actual person 4 times, telling them I am not the person they are looking for, nor do I know her. They always say they will take me off the list, and are VERY rude, and tight lipped about any information I ask for. But they Keep Calling!!! After gathering as much info as I could (from the automated calls telling me reference #'s) I decide the next time they call, I'm going to straighten it out for good. Sure enough, they call back, (they always do...) and I call the darned # and give them the "reference #" they left. I ask the lady who she works for. "CCA." I ask what that stands for. "Nothing," she says. (!!!) She won't tell me. I ask her name, won't tell me. She ends up hanging up on me. This morning I call AT&T a second time. I tell them "CCA" has been hounding me for an outstanding balance that is not mine. I had called to find out if CCA was a scam (one call wouldn't give me a person, it just asked for my CREDIT CARD #!!!) No, AT&T uses them for collections, they are not a scam, and they are called "Collection Company of America." From googling "CCA collections" and clicking on the "Who's calling me" sites, I realize there is a TON of this going on. From MANY different 800/877 numbers. And they are pissing me off. After digging (really deep, they are hard to find...) here is their website.

A quote from their website:
"It's not just collecting debt; it's collecting in a manner that best represents our clients while achieving superior performance levels."
Candice O'Brien, VP of Operations
I am going to write a letter to their CEO, and anyone else who will listen, AND I am going to file a complaint with AT&T. I have been a loyal customer for too long to have them outsource someone to harass me for a debt that isn't mine, and be yelled at, not responded to, and hung up on. I hope you guys do, too.- Caller: CCA (Collection Company of America)
- AndresHave been receiving calls from this number for the last couple of days, finally called back last night, when I asked what this number was they sated that they were CCA when I asked what their buisiness was they hung up.
I called back and insisted that they stop calling they were very rude and would agian not specify what they wanted, finally they asked if I new somebody mumbling the first name and clearly stating the last name, It was my last name but I asked them to clarify the first name when the name was again repeated I advised that that person was not known at this address, she stated that it seemed very odd that I had hesitated on answering, I agian repeated that I had not been able to understand her the first time, at that time the person agian hung up. ( extremely rude ). - JoeOkay, here's what to do is you're using AT&T and they keep calling you.
First, file a complaint at the BBB: http://reports-boston.bbb.org/Boston/Public/Reports/RR/Report.aspx?i=42183
Call CCA - Collections Company of America - You can use the number they called you with. If it just keeps ringing, just keep letting it ring. Then call again. And again. Eventually, they will answer.
Tell them to stop calling, as the person they are trying to reach no longer has that number. The operator should make a note on the account. (That doesn't mean a whole lot, though.)
Then, call AT&T Customer Support: 1-800-331-0500. Explain to them that you think your phone number is recycled and used to be owned by someone who had been sent to collections (specifically, CCA). The operator at AT&T will make a note on your account, as well.
If the operator doesn't offer to do it, ask him or her to call the Receivables Management office at AT&T, as they're the ones who deal with collections. The person at Receivables Management will know exactly what's going on, as, trust me, you are not the only person to call about this problem.
They should take care of it for you. If you do all these things and they keep calling, repeat these steps and mention that your attorney will be contacting them, should the calls not cease, as it constitutes harassment. That usually does the trick.
Hope that helps. Here's an address to write to them:

- IrritatedTooHi All, I just received a voicemail from this number and I might be able to shed a little light pertaining to my situation. The person they asked for in their message is someone that I know but I havent spoken to in years, so I think that it is a Collection Agency for AT&T but I think they are pulling old bills and trying to call every number on every bill to see if they can get in contact with the original owner of the number that is now delinquent. Since my number would have definitely been on this persons bill a few years ago, I can only imagine that they called me hoping I was still in contact with this person. Those of you who don'nt know the person they are asking for, I think you may have just gotten an unlucky phone number that popped up on one of their old bills and the number may have belonged to someone else previously that this person did call. Hope that helps, its the only thing that makes sense to me since I know this person would have never put my number down as a credit reference.
