I keep getting calls from this # with a message about check fraud for a person I dont know, and they never leave a call back number

They're doing the same for me. Some Eric Roberts fellow. The "8 billion 775 million 225 thousand 275" number they say is there number.

These folks keep calling about a check fraud case of a name of someone we have never heard of....How do they get our phone numbers ? ? ?

*If you fall for this scam, no matter how convincing they are, you will be out ALOT of money. And, then, you're out...and you have NO IDEA where your money went. To help what cause? To fund what purpose? If you report this scam, what's the worst that will happen? This "agency" would be forced to stop preying on those by using illegal and unlawful tactics. Either way, its your money...

I have been getting calls saying that I am being accused of check fraud. I haven't had a checking account for years and have not written any bad checks. I am tired of getting these calls because it messes with my peace of mind because I don't know what is going on.

Received a call and reported it.

They are debt collectors.  I was served divorce papers in March 07 in Texas.  My husband at the time took out a pay day loan.  He used my mother and sister as a reference to get the loan.  The people that call from this number say that they are from Drake and Associates.  They are trying to find my ex due to a pre-lidigation issue.  I called them and told them to stop harrasing my family.  They said they have removed them from the list but that I am responisble for his debt since we were married at the time and that by law they can call me at least once a day for his debt.  Which is a lie.  In our temporary orders he is responsible for all debt that he incures from the date that I was served.  They try to scare you into giving information about the person they are trying to find.  This company broke one law for sure.  When they called my family they acted like they were attornies.  A debt collector must say who they are.  And I believe they can be held accountible.  My family have told them time and time again to stop calling.  They are not responsible for his debt.  He used them as a reference.  So when they ask them to stop calling they must.  So we are all keeping a call log.  If the calls continue we will be filing a compliant.

Stating I have a Pre Litigation Review tomorrow (June 26, 2012) at 3PM.  News to me I have not
been served at all for this and no prior calls to this.
Furthermore.. I don't know what this is regarding..
All my debts are charged off. And paid off..
I have been on a disability for years. And if this is about Check Fraud I have not done a check in decades anyplace.. Either way I am not going to return the call to give my statement. So be it..
I am so sick of these ppl doing this personally scare you to  pay things off that are all ready done!

ALl you have to do is keep calling them back and ask for their mailing address and dont accept a po box...call them back hundreds of times a day...until they give you their mailing address/

I have experienced the same approach for an alleged debt with this agency. PLEASE REPORT any calls and or emails like this to the Better Business Bureau (main webpage), click on "USA" in the center log-in box and in the right-hand column in blue in "For the Consumer" there is an option to "Report a Scam." Please use this initiative so these agencies are forced to follow the Fair Debt Practices Act. Do not worry if you feel you do not have enough information to provide the BBB; I have reported only facts of which I am aware In addition, these practices are in direct violation of any FDCPA laws.

Keep getting the same thing here, saying have a court order for a bounced check, its a scam, like i told them, then have the sheriffs dept deliver the warrant , dont even bother calling them back, they are decent at trying to convience you but dont fall for it.

This is a SCAM! They try to get people to pay them to avoid being taken to court. If you are really being taken to court you will be served papers not threatened over the phone to buy out. They take honest people's money. These people need to be stopped. They are pathetic, they sit there all day everyday trying to scam innocent people out of money they earn honestly putting in a hard day's work. I hope they all burn for this someday.

I have reported this number several times to the attorney generals office, and they stopped for a while and now they have started back up again...

I received a call from some woman from telephone number 877-522-5275 stating my personal information regarding my previous employer, family names, n bank name. She then told me I had an outstanding online payday loan from 2007 for $800.00 including interest for original loan amt. of $400.00 from 1000payday loans. I don't recall having a payday loan from that company and yes I did have online payday loans but I have since paid them off from that time period. She then threatened me with legal action including intent to defraud if I didn't resolve this matter soon. I then told her I was undergoing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and that she was not allowed to contact me and threaten me with any arrest charges. She then insisted that I am still obligated to repay the debt and wanted my attorney's number and then told her I didn't have an attorney and she said 'Fine well see you in court."
