- JTMy spouse and I both received a voicemail message on our individual cell numbers from a woman whose voice sounds tired- obviously recorded because we played the messages side by side with the same pauses and intonations.
"Hello my name is Patty I am calling from Wells Fargo claims assistance - wanted to let you know we did receive your claim, returning your phone call. If you'd like to give us a call back at 877 548 9230 and reference your claim number 2018022782086 thank you."
We had not filed a claim. When we called our bank directly they confirmed there was no active claim. Wells Fargo had no way to capture this information for their fraud team.- Caller: Wells Fargo

- David M| 8 repliesI have a Wells Fargo claim so I was at first receptive, but didn't want to give out the last 4 of my SS#. (you can never be too careful) I was given the 877-548-9230 number to call back. I called the Wells Fargo customer service number from my claim and they said no added info was needed. They could not verify this other phone number.
Reverse lookup said the number belongs to Michael Ragland in Beloit, WI.- Call type: Scam suspicion
- JackReacher replies to David M| 7 repliesSince this is a toll free number I doubt that information is correct. Sometimes you have to think when using a search engine instead of blindly following the results. Plus now that I looked that number up I see you lied about the search results. Maybe you had a bad date with that person?
- David M replies to JackReacher| 5 repliesHi Jack,
Troll much? I assume by your rude response that you're in on the scam. - JackReacher replies to David M| 3 repliesHi David, Troll much? I assume by your rude response criticizing my truthful answer that you are an idiot? Just because your little girl panties are all in a twist because you are butt hurt that someone found out about your lie you decided to stop back after 20 minutes? Well maybe you should have posted the truth? Because I used two different search engines and that person was not named in either of them.
- B-Edwards replies to David MAnd you? - Your story of how you came by this number is vague/confused. What number called you that then gave you this number as a contact about your "Claim"?
- The number and name you claim to have researched do not appear to be connected in anyway. You are either have no idea about how to do a proper search or you are lying.
- Searches show a person in Beloit named Michael Ragland, but that name is NOT associated with any toll-free number.
- The number associated with this thread does not readily connect with Wells Fargo, and JackReacher never said it did. How does that make Jack a shill? If anything, your post and info is both misleading and suspiciously like the sort of misleading post a shill would make.
Looks like other shills have been here, seems you are just another, out to protect their scam. - B-Edwards replies to JackReacher| 1 replyI see another phishing scam was identified here: https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/8007235533/2
Also naming Wells Fargo as the bank making the calls. Also with shill posts removed from the thread. I am betting "David" will not be back, at least for while. - Not a Wells customer replies to Wells Fargo CustomerYou're wrong. You must be part of the scam.
