This is a telemarketing company. When you try and get rid of them they simply tell you that the national do not call list does not exist. Please file your complaint and to your state agencies as well (Tx. Do Not Call). Maybe a nice stiff fine will adjust their attitude.

Legitimate Companies Should Properly Identify Themselves On The Caller ID.  The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call.  Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.

This guy identified himself as being with a company called "apstar" and told me he had never heard of the National Do Not Call Registry.  I asked him to remove my number from his database, and he told me he did not know what I was talking about.  He didn't sound too smart, so I suppose I should not be surprised!

I called the number back, and it is APP Star Financial.  They try to sell Credit Card and Payment Processing plans to your business.

The following number calls my cell phone almost every day. Never leaves a message and when I answer and start to tell them not to call anymore, they hang up. 877-553-1136

The person or persons at 877-553-1136 persist in calling me multiple times daily. This is unacceptable as our numbers are all on the Do Not Call Listing. They say the registry does not exist and "good luck" filing on us.

I am officially seeking to file a complaint for this harassment.

I did call the number back and an automated message came on which said if I didn't want to be contacted to enter my 10-digit telephonw number, I did so and the message said that my phone number had been added. The message also said that they bought their list from Dunn and Bradstreet. Anyway, we will see if the call again - it is AP Star Financial.

I have filed complaints against Ap Star Financial with the BBB and DoNotCall.

I also keep getting calls from this # at least 4 times a day they will not leave a msg and it every day

Why do they want to know who you are?

I think these are calls to mine your number. If you answer or return the call, they know it's a good number, and they can sell it to other scum. The same thing is true for email spam.

Called me just now. I picked up but didn't answer. It was silent. Then I hit "3" to be removed (some recent ones seem to offer that as an option). When I hit it the first time, a human cam on and asked to speak with me by name. I hit "3" again then just hung up.

They call my business 2-3 times a day. There are calling there selves App Star.

The company apparently wants to keep in close touch with me, too. I tend to ignore calls from numbers with ambiguous Caller ID information, and then look them up here or elsewhere on the net if the caller doesn't leave a voice mail.

I have a phone system that has a call-blocking feature. When a particular number is blocked, the phone doesn't ring, the caller ultimately reaches voice mail, scam callers (like this company, anyway) don't leave messages, and so it goes until the caller loses interest. Blocked calls do, however, still  show up in my Caller ID when I check it, so I know the calls are still coming. But once they are blocked I am no longer distracted by the calls.

It is very annoying but worthwhile to pause and track down these types of companies. This site performs a great service. I've recognized an quite an uptick in unwanted calls. I will file a complaint with my state attorney general. I do hope something helpful comes of it.

We have been contacting their phone service providers rather than the DNC agency.  So far Verizon has cancelled 4 of these spammers and all their numbers and Cox Cable has just filed a lawsuit against someone using a spoof caller ID to their company.  The initial Federal fine is $50,000.00 and the state charges and fines total $37,500.00!!!  They will probably file bankruptcy but fines cannot be discharged!

Call the providers people and put the heat on them.  They don't want the bad PR.  Make a 5 minute phone call and lets get these people.

These people are scumbags.  They are pain in the you know what.
Already filed complaints with the Attorney General office.
