Person called and did not leave an information.  Just a number.  It would be nice to know who this number belongs to.

I received a call and a reference number but no identifying information. When I called back they identified themselves as "Credit Control." Sounds like a collection agency to me.

This just happened to me:

I moved out of state, they sent a final bill to my new address. $177. Because of the move, I was only able to pay $100 last week & paid the balance of $77 this week.

Their final bill said total amount due by Aug 25th.  On saturday, same day I made the final $77 payment, I received a letter of collections from their collection company they use.  Their letter was dated Aug 23rd.

I called Cox from back home and bitched the lady out... she said it is just a company Cox employs to help getting final payments.  Credit Control Corporation

I told her well their letter and company name looks to be like I was sent to collections on the 23rd for a bill due the 25th !!!!

f***ing stupid if you ask me.  I checked my credit history and so far nothing was sent in over the $77 that wasn't even late... but I'm keeping an eye on it.

This is apparently from a collection agency which I have repeatedly told that I do NOT owe this bill. I was told my balance was ZERO from the company they are supposedly calling for. And all they do is give you a number and a reference #  no info on who they are etc...sorry unless and until they identify themselves they can spend more than the $40 they claim I owe them....which I don't. I had Suddenlink which I assume is a subsidary of Cox?

Credit Control 4902 Eisenhower Blvd Ste 155 Tampa Florida 33634. I used to work here and more than half of the collectors are high all day every day even the guy running it is high as hell. when they hassle you just have your lawyer contact them.

It is Cox Communications collections dept.  Appaerently, they don't need to tell you that when you sign up for new service, you are signing a 2-year contract.  I paid my final bill at a Cox store and there was no mention of an early termination fee.  $168 later, they are finally off my back.  [***] all the way.

This number continues to call me, I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. They finally left a message for someone named Lee calling from "credit control." the number they left to call was 1 877 570 4050

I got a call from this number on my phone.  I looked it up and it's Cox Cable.  I cancelled them in October after their Free McAfee Antivirus crashed my computer and cost me $200 to repair and reinstall all my programs.  Their customer service was terrible as I was going through this drama.  They sent me a final bill for $100.00, which I haven't paid yet.
So they are probably calling me to get their money.

Had called here daily for another person I never heard of and left a recorded message about trying to collect a debt.  Although the recording stated "if you are not xxxxxx xxxxxx, please disconnect,"  and I did, it didn't work.  Finally having enough, I answered the call and asked for their address.  She wouldn't answer, and I reminded them about the Federal law that they have to give it to me.  Supposedly Credit Counseling Service, P O Box 120630, Newport News, VA.  When I told her I had never heard of this person, she stated that she would remove my number.  One more call, and I'm reporting them to the appropriate agencies.

I got a call from someone that said they are collecting a debt. I do owe Cox like $77. It hasn't even been two months since I left them and it's already gone to collections. Really!? These people are pathetic. The number has been blocked.

Just got a call from this number, 1st time I believe.  I had Cox and moved out of their area, did pay them off, 2 years ago, looked at my final bill and payment made evens out, why are they calling me and 2 years later?  Stop Please.

In February of 2012 I disconnected from COX. Shortly after they sent me a final bill for $214.  I paid the bill in two separate installments of $107.  (I have documentation showing the payments).  In June of 2012 credit control corporation called me saying that I still owed the bill and if I did not pay them they would report it to the credit agency. I gave them the transaction numbers and thought the matter was finished.  Now come to find out, there is a record on my credit report showing the bill as un-paid.  I'm finished dealing with them directly and need to know a good attorney (in the Phoenix area) that I can use to file suit against COX and credit control corporation.  This had damaged my credit score and I want blood!

I missed one payment it was 2 weeks late coxs turn off the internet  so i called and tried to cancel the service  the CSR said i could not cause their is a disconnect order. so for the next 2 months no one came to disconnect the service and pick up the equipment.  during that time coxs still charged me like i had service.  once they did disconnect the wire  i get a bill for over $300, i called complained  i got the bill down to $98  and had them agree to take $20  and i will pay the remainder on the next payday. well the next day i get a call from collection.
