Calls constantly at all hoursv

I am sick and tired of all these calls, I now have a list of 4 that call almost every day, phone rings 3 times and they hang up, what is the point of the calls?  This has been going on for months.

A call-back to the Caller ID states that it is the Leukemia and Lymphoma (sp?) people - probably to raise money.

This is the Leukemia Society calling for money, called the phone number and you can press 1 to get deleted from their calling list.

Thanks for the information about removing my number from this calling list.  It should take from 2 to 30 days but I am tired of the calls every day and someimes twice a day.

In a 4 day period, I got calls from 14 from several different telemarketers including these idiots.  I need to screen every call before I answer it to see whether I should waste my time with these and the other bozos.  I have tried to block as many calls as I can but I think these cretins use many different numbers.  I'm thinking about buying a new phone which has a capacity to block up to 30 phone numbers since my carrier can only block 12.  It's too bad the FCC can't catch these fools and prosecute them.

Among telemarketeers The Leukemia Society must surely be the worst offender.  They have called me dozens of times using at least half a dozen different telephone numbers.  These numbers usually have 866 or 877 as the prefix, but there are others.  I blocked all of them that had appeared on my caller ID.  That bought me maybe one month's peace before they resorted to the current number.  Doubtless this is a worthy cause, and eminently worthy of support, but how they expect to raise any money while destroying all good will with such outrageous tactics is beyond me.   A plague upon them all.    (n.b. that is not a typo.  I deliberately conflate the terms 'racketeer' and 'telemarketer': hence telemarketeer.)
