- RonFor the last few days I have received phone call stating that a complaint had been filed against me and my social. I called the number back and got an answering services for Ruben and Yates Atty. After research, this is a SCAM and do not comply with these people. I will follow up more later when they call again....as I am sure they will.
- Caller: Ruben and Yates
- Report these Idiots...PLEASE!Rubin & Yates is a criminal organization with no legitimate address or corporate identity. They have been sued 4 times for similar behavior but nobody has been able to successfully serve them, let alone obtain any money from them. They are hiding out under the radar for now. Call your local Attorney General, the FTC and the NY Attorney General and tell them to put a stop to these criminals.
- JessicaThey called me twice now looking for my mother for some so-called debt. I have asked them twice to remove me from the file and they wont do so. They refuse to give any info about who they are and what they want and even when you call them they do not answer the phone with a company name - only with a "hello". I had to continually ask who I was calling and barely got info on the company. They are fruad - filed a formal complaint with my attorney general and everyone else should do the same!

- MikaThis company is a total sham! Do not confirm any information with them or give them any personal information. They also collect information from people that you know. They are liars and very tricky at what they do. They were attempting to collect a debt that I went bankrupt on over 10 years ago. Please be aware and protect your privacy. Their correspondence was almost comical.

- Jake from PA| 1 replyYeah. Thanks for all the great info on this place. Everyone on this website is the sham. I believed what you were saying and now I actually recieved a summons for court next month. I cant believe this. Everyone thinks they know everything, when in fact you know nothing. This website is a joke. I just called them and they say they will not work out an agreement before court because I was rude to them when I called the first time. I am so upset that they are actually pursuing this debt. I thought they were just trying to scam me. This sucks.

- A replies to Jake from PAHow long have you worked for the company Jake?
- Laura Collins| 4 repliesJust got a call from Rueben Marshall. He was very nice. It was about my Hsbc mastercard. We worked out a payment plan that I could afford with my social security check. I read a bunch things on the internet saying they will scam me. I asked for a letter to be faxed to me, and I receieved it right away. I set up the payments though my checking account for 50 a month. I didnt know who to call to try to get this debt paid, Im glad they found me I really wanted to pay it, just couldnt afford the payments that the bank was asking for.
- A replies to Laura Collins| 3 repliesAbsolute lie!
The bank???? I think you mean Mastercard don't you.
They would accept anything you could give, no credit card, bank or legit business would turn down any type of payment.
How long have you worked for the company Laura? - Trish replies to Asome lady clled my brother yesterday, I cant believe they called my brother in Utah. I dont even live anywhere close to him. I havent spoke to him in years. My brother called my mother told her to relay a message to me. I called them and they stated it was about a mastercard I took out 2 years ago from household. I told the woman I couldnt pay anything right now becuase im not working. She was very nice and explained that the it needed to be resolved. I told her my husband is working and we may be able to work out very small payments. She told me to call back after I spoke with him. I hate owing money but at least they will work with me.
- king903a replies to A| 1 replyBanks turn down payments all the time. once they sell the debt how can they accept a payment. where would they post it. the account has been sold.
- king903a replies to king903a"A" have you ever even worked for a collection agency? Or a bank. They are different. Even within one company they are completely seperate dept.
Ruben and Yates are not a scam. I feel all collection agencys should follow the fair debt collections act. Some collection agents are rude. If you owe a debt pay it. you never know when you might need to borow again. - Amy| 1 replyReceived a call from a Gary King at this number on 8/10/2010, looking for someone who had this phone number at least 3 1/2 years ago. He provided her name and social security number, and said a complaint had been filed against her in county court and provided what he claims is the case number and said if she didn't respond promptly that they would indicate to the court she is refusing to cooperate and implied jail time could be forthcoming. I've repeatedly told other callers from this same number and others from various other numbers that this woman no longer has the phone number they are calling, that I have had the number for 3 1/2 years, that I should not be privvy to such information about her, and have asked them to stop calling. Apparently they don't listen too well. I do NOT know her and do NOT know how to contact her. I don't know how much clearer I can be with these people.

- Amy replies to AmyJust a follow up to my above post. I had some time to kill so I stopped by the county courthouse on 8/10/2010. The "complaint number" provided by Gary King from 877-573-2104 (his direct line came thru as 716-650-2640) is NOT a valid complaint/case file number with the county, despite Mr. King's allegation. The county clerk's office has no cases filed against the individual Mr. King was looking for. This would indeed appear to be a scam caller, trying to intimidate the person who had my phone number before me into paying up or giving out a cc number or something.
- AmyAnd another follow up.... Mr. King contacted me again today at 10:57 am, again looking for the same individual. I let the answering machine pick up. He again indicated that legal action had been taken against the individual he was looking for, provided a case number, and stated that if she did not return his call promptly she would be reported as uncooperative to the courts and would face jail time. He did not leave her ssn this time. I promptly returned his call, indicated that we had talked on 8/10/2010 and had told him that this woman did not have my phone number any longer, that I did not know her or know how to reach her, and that he had been instructed not to call again. I also told him that I had been to the county courthouse while at the DMV and checked up on his case number, that the courts had nothing filed against this woman or her ssn, and that the "case number" he provided and claimed was the court case number was not valid. Mr. King proceeded to curse me, call me a liar, tell me I didn't know what I was talking about, told me to get a job, claimed a recording which would prove he had not left a ssn the first time he called (I informed him that nowhere in his current conversation had he informed me that the call was to collect a debt and was being recorded, thereby a violation of the FTC debt collection practices) and then hung up on me. I called back and Mr. King answered immediately. He told me I was harassing him and that he was going to file legal action against me. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he again repeated his threat, but did transfer me to his supervisor, a Brian Evan. I provided Mr. Evan a very brief synopsis and instructed him again that NO ONE from Rubin & Yates is to phone this number again, or I would file a complaint with the Pendleton County sheriff as instructed by the clerk at the court office.

- KJThey called and left a message about working on a lawsuit case. Left a name of Dan Hollinger.
- RSTotal scam. Told me I had a complaint against me and my ssn# and I needed to call in order to be served. I called them back and it was in regards to a credit card that has been payed off for 6 years. They were rude and demanded I pay them even though I had proof the card was paid off long ago. They are not a real lawfirm and are total crooks. Do not deal with them. They somehow got my cell phone number and repeatedly harassed me. I am seriously considering filing a lawsuit against them. Total crooks!
