Finally someone answered and asked for someone I had no idea of and when I asked who this was, they hung up.

This number calls my house everyday at 8:30 AM, when my husband has answered the phone, no-one is there.  I wish I had a way to block these scumbags, so it will stop waking my baby up every morning.

call asking for my ss number say they are from my bank..... no way

called at 7:00 am Said her name of Sarah Romeo and that she misdailed

researched this number and it comes up as first niagara bank  which is in fact a collection company and an arm of HSBC bank, or a contractual agreement between them, enough legal jargon to call themselves a "Bank"  The account gets transferred to the so called 1st Niag Bank and then the harassment program takes over.  One  of the phone operators confirmed this with me.
Googled Mapped , one of their addresses and it is HSCB   You can check that at 3051 sheridan amherst ny  they claim to be a really big bank with lots of locations. HSBC have locations- they don't. Just the delinquent accounts passed over.  On their WEB SITE - They don't have numbers for their branches because they are an undisclosed collection agency, with one central number.  They don't even introduce themselves - just hello.  I expect  they wear several hats and have collection agreements under different 800#'s  for other financial institutions.   Its the dirty side of Banking.  1st Niagara keeps the Bank image "clean"
Final comment operator said my name came up under "skip tracing".  Which is essentially tracing people who have skipped payment.  Wanted my # to take it off the list - a big NOT on that one.   If you call 877 # do so from gmail phone   In Alberta's case it goes thru a router and the number shows your call is coming from California.  Hard to stop the robo calls from another country tho   I woud give them " Virtual Bank Collection Agency" status.

and say that it is the First Niagara Bank calling.

first niagara took over many HSBC accounts when HSBC closed its consumer operations (business side is still open). (key bank took the rest)
