- Sarah| 3 repliesCall for someone who's not at this number, something about a file in their office and a claim. Caller ID says 913-674-5099, Atchison, KS. Computer message leaves 877-591-7730.
- Caller: Unknown
- Joe replies to Sarahit's a debt collector company that just set up a huge center there from Colorado. They are the scum of the earth and get paid commission for big money and will do and say anything for it.
- rich replies to Sarah| 1 replyJust got the same call, same message. They call on Sat but are closed Sat and Sun? Nice.
- Mary replies to richI just got the call. I let my machine answer and It is Sunday evening and he says his office is closed on Sat. and Sun. Do not have a clue who they are or what they want. I do not have any debt what so ever.
- TobySame here. No debt, just block the number to these morons.
- Caller: Sprint
- Call type: Debt collector
- RSReceived a call Saturday on my cell phone. I didn't answer and the message stated their office is closed on Sat/Sun, very important I call on Monday due to a claim against me. I don't have any claims or debts against me!
- annoyed| 2 repliesI have gotten two phone calls recently with a recorded message urging me to contact Mr. Callahan from Regents. He had called on Friday with a message to call him by 5:00 or else action would be taken without my input and that I had failed to respond to the many messages left over the last 30 days--no such messages had been left. I knew things weren't right in that he gave just enough info to scare you into calling to find out more. I wouldn't think a legitimate company would use such an urgent tone and be so vague with the first message left. I wonder how many people he has scammed with this scare tactic.
He left another message this morning--obviously I didn't have to call him by 5:00 Friday or else he wouldn't have called again today!
Do not give in to fear!!!- Caller: Regents
- irritated replies to annoyedwow...tg4internet...Didn't sound like recorded msg but same script.. same "Mr." got 4pm deadline but also one on Friday too! Msg not addressed to anyone and "claim" or "action" is not defined.. sounds lawyerish..aren't there laws against impersonating lawyer for purpose of collecting money? well aside from fact that this seems very phishy.. advise to all.. Annoyed seems to know this already... 1. if its official, they will notify you in writing (even if you choose to ignore it) 2. NEVER NEVER EVER give out personal info (including your name with your address or phone number) to ANYONE who CALLS YOU (try looking up your own info on net and see what happens..SCARY).. if you call them FIRST from a number you found on your own, then its on you, but if i give you my number or text you that I am BankX and you call, obviously, I will answer "BankX"... please never fall for any of those scams.. If you feel compelled to call these things back, ask for "claim" and offer in writing but if they really are real they wont need you to provide address.. and do not confirm the spelling of your name especially if it unique..they will have correct info if real, if not they are simply trying to narrow the internet search down..FIGHT ON!!!!!!
- cprideralso got call today from this number. Claims to be regarding a "claim", but no other information. It should like the name of the company was Rega or something similar. Caller stated his name was Mr. Calahan (right). There was also a dealine to call. Did not call.
- Caller: Rega
- trice replies to annoyedI just got the same message but I was to reply by 6:00 p.m. I don't have any debt either. Sounds like a scam to me. Watch out everybody.
- LouisvillianJust received recorded phone message (on home phone) from something with "Regent" as main/first name. Was so perplexed with purpose of call that I couldn't really follow the message, actually thinking at any second it would state a party's name or something that would confirm my thought that they had the "wrong number" or "wrong person." But instead he stated that an action of some sort was to occur immediately if I didn't return call today. Fortunate that I was able to write down correct phone number since it was rattled off rather quickly & not repeated. Since I don't owe any outstanding debts & know of no lawsuits against me, I had been waiting for a "sales pitch" for a service or product. But the ending "threat" of some type of immediate "action" made me both fearful & suspicious. That is why I turned to the Internet for some clue about this "urgent" & unsettling call.
- Caller: "Regent" something
- SacramentanReceived same vague message of a "claim" having been refered to this guy's office and that I haven't responded to many messages over last 30 days. There have been no such messages. Beware. If you truly have some unpaid debt somewhere (even if you don't know about it) they have to send you something in writing. Don't give out your personal information, address, name, etc. If you really do have a debt, they already know this information. If they want to file a legal action, they have to personally serve you first and notify you of the action. If you choose to call them back, demand some confirmation of the debt in writing but DON'T give out your contact information, they should already have it if it's legitimate. If they refuse to confirm in writing, then its a scam and/or they are violating debt collection laws.
- Eric B.| 1 replyReceived a message from "Mr. Pennington" from Regent saying he has left "numerous messages on this exact machine over the past 30 days." This is the first message I have ever gotten from them. Also my caller ID, which covers all calls received since I got this phone number in January, shows this is the first call from them. "Mr. Pennington" also never uses my name in the message.
This is a SCAM.- Caller: Regent
- Sierra replies to Eric B.Exact same urgent message from Mr. Pennington.... no details who he was looking for, just threats and to call by 4. Said had left several messages, this was the first. Certainly must be a scam.
- "T"Got a call from this number...The guy left a message and told me to call by 4pm or they would have to take matters further... I called and they said they are looking for a guy I don't know...I told them I don't know this person and not to call me again...Hopefully this will end the harassing phone calls...
- Call type: Debt collector
- BarbaranneI got a call from this number. Said they were looking for someone with the same name as mine, same message, must call by 4:00. Said it was USBank. Told them wrong number, do not call back. Have had several calls similar but from a different number.
- Caller: don't know.
- Call type: Debt collector
- columbusGot a threatening final message to call by 6 PM or some unspecified action would be taken against me.
I called back and demanded that they not make threatening calls to me and apologize. The person they sought was related to a person with a similar name to mine and unknown to me. It was amusing to see how offended they were when someone came back at them aggressively. I followed up with a report to the state AG office.- Caller: Regent Assests Management Services (RAMS)
- Call type: Debt collector
- KristiGot a call from them on my cell phone last night, and just now at work. Never used my name, just the same recording - Mr. something-or-other from Regents (different name each time), and they would have to take matters further. They say they have left messages at this number for the past 30 days, but they haven't.
I started getting calls like this after I signed up at Lending Tree to try to refinance my mortgage. HUGE mistake. I never got any help refinancing, but I started getting debt collection calls, and I have no debt! I have no credit cards, haven't for years, and I am not behind on my mortgage. You can't trust anyone.- Caller: "Regents"
- Call type: Debt collector
- SandraJust received a phone call on a Saturday telling me to call on Monday. Made it sound like a collection or legal matter. I do not owe money. Besides, why would someone call on a Saturday and say call on Monday. I read on site they are harrassing others.
