The jails are loaded with real criminals and this company does not have any power other than to make threats. There will be no one showing up to get you or any other consumer. When they call you , just hang up on them.- Caller: spellman and Roman

I am not attempting to insult anyone on here. I am stating what I believe. If a "collections" company has people's full names, last known address(es), and social security numbers then most likely there is some money owed to someone down the road. Think about it...with all the problems in the world today it is well-known that identity theft is on the rise. But how can a company do this for an invalid debt? Wouldn't the FBI have shut them down now if they are stealing people's identities? They are using scare tactics and other means to try to collect on a debt...that is wrong. But how did they get that information in the first place? To me, they had to obtain it from an organization where a consumer provided that information.
Now...on to your comments. In regards to credit score...I am not even going to attempt to dignify that with a response because I do not know anything about you and you do not know anything about me. I could tell you that I own 4 houses, 6 cars, have a 700 credit score...but why bother? Can I prove that in cyberspace? No...nor will I even make the attempt. Same thing goes to you...to me it's just words...meaningless as I can't even attempt to put a face with the words you type.
And again the "crackhead" comment...I already took that back and apologized so I am not going to go on any more about that. I admitted I was wrong so why do you keep bringing it up? I'm far from perfect and this is one of those times I was not so give it a rest please.
Who's judging you? Me? When? I'm sorry but if you take anything I say personally then you are really foolish...regardless of your income, occupation or credit score. Maybe you had a crack addiction at one point...I don't know but I really can't see how I was judging you at all! This is cyberspace...just chill.
Druggies I know? What you know me now? Get off your high-horse and make some sense out of the words you type seaweed.
LOL that comment about "snots and boogers" was there as a laugh and you just proved my point. You have your head held up so high and so bent out of shape that you fill your nose with every kind of ooglie possible (kleenex for you kimp? LOL). The fact that you did not even comprehend that reiterates the fact that you are a foolish putts who LOVES to rant and rave in cyberspace about people voicing their opinions!!!! I am laughing hysterically right now at your ignorance!!!!
Anyways if you respond (and I'm 95% sure that you will) please do so in a manner that your utter stupidity is not displayed in the text that is displayed on my computer screen. - Tanya BI received a crazy call from a lady name Ms Callaway regarding a payday loan from Sept of 06. She treatened me by saying since I made the loan over my work computer that I had violated some laws and that someone will be up at my job to take my work computer for evidence and take me to jail also. I was falling for this until I decided to call the magaistrate office and they told me you cannot go to jail over a civil matter and they cannot come to your job. I called Ms Callaway back from Spellman & Roman and told her I was not able to come up with the money and she said they will proceed with the proper steps. I told her nicely that there was just nothing I could do and that I have talked with the court office and they told me some things I wish not to share with her. She said she hopes everything work out and hung up the phone. It has been 3 hours now and no one has come up to my job to lock me up. I do believe this is a scam and people please do not fall for it. They will tell you all this stuff over the phone but if you know you did not commit any crime then do not let them get to your head.

- WHOCARESSTUPIDPLEASE, PLEASE STOP ARGUING NON-SENSE!!!!!!!!!! If someone has their identity stolen I don’t think that’s something to pock fun at or try to discredit. If a school teachers has nothing more to do then indulge in constant back and forth comments, but have nothing to do with what’s actually going on then what does that say. The collection agency never called you right? You stumble across this website in error correct? Yea right…lol! Some one should be the bigger person and STOP! Maybe the person with the 6 cars and 700 credit score? Perhaps the business owner? Not sure, but damn who cares? If you own all of New York and Mars SO WHAT!!! Both of you get over it. The crack head comment was at fault here. Don’t fall behind someone else ignorance.
- Practicality 101"The crack head comment was at fault here. Don't fall behind someone else ignorance."
It's not ignorance when you publicly apologize for making that comment and admit yourself that you were out of line. Ignorance is when one keeps harping on it after one admits wrongdoing.
The reason I keep visiting this website is because this particular scam intrigues me. I'm beginning to research this...my spouse is a lawyer and it has drawn my attention...my apologies for my intrigue.- Caller: N/A
- Practicality 101RE: WHOCARESSTUPID - Look at the dates of what you respond to. I typed that 9 days ago so I think the argument was over...don't fall behind ignorance...look before you type.

- tarai was called and scammed to and filed complaints with proper agencies, the point is spellman& roman are not a real company and are taking money from people because they dont want to work,no one is perfect, and we all fall behind and neglect bills but who deserves to have money stolen from their pockets, its just like someone put a gun to your head and robbed you, these people need to be stopped, their are laws set up to protect consumers for a reason, look at the government and their deficit talking about someone not paying their bills, everyone that has been scammed needs to come together and catch spellman and roman and file a class action lawsuit
- Beatrice BaltimoreAs many of you are aware I am a representative from Spellman and Roman. I must admit that I am absolutely APPALLED at some of the posts on this website. Let me explain a few things:
1. Our company is based in Toronto, Ontario (for those of you that don't know that is in Canada...a different country than the United States). Therefore the federal laws in which you all discuss apply to United States, not Canada in which we work.
2. We are a 3rd party collection agency. We obtained these debts and can validate them, but Canadian law does not state that me MUST validate the debt.
3. Pay up and avoid us having to contact you.
Good luck to all!- Caller: Spellman and Roman
- SLWWell, Ms. Beatrice Baltimore, thanks for the info!
This still doesn't explain why your company LIES about their location, THREATENS people with imprisonment or violence or DODGES answering any legitimate questions about the alleged "debt".
THIS IS IMPORTANT, PEOPLE...SO MAKE SURE YOU READ HER POST RIGHT ABOVE MINE! If they are located in Canada, think about it...they can't do a darn thing to you legally, much less have you imprisoned! And while Ms. BB says they don't legally have to validate the debt, you as a U.S. citizen don't legally have to pay monies to a foreign country that won't comply with US regulations!
Thanks very much Ms. Beatrice...you basically just shot yourselves in the foot...now we know for sure you are not a threat! Be smart everyone: if you incurred the debt, go back and pay it off to the original debtor instead of these crooks who are intentionally trying to dodge U.S. Law. Think about this: if they don't legally have to validate the debt, then is it possible they don't legally have to tell anyone you paid them? They can just take the money and run!
If you owe it, pay it with the original debtor and if you don't, tell these sheisters to go to hell and hang up on them.- Caller: Spellman & Roman
- Ummm...what???This is just me, but if someone from another country is threatening US citizens with violence, imprisonment, harm to their home and/or employer, etc.--isn't that called TERRORISM???
- Caller: Spellman & Roman
- Beatrice BaltimoreThanks to the posting I have been terminated from Spellman and Roman. I could tell stories about that place but I'll leave it to the imagination.
My advice...don't pay the company anything!!!!
P.S. Terrorism is a little extreme "ummm...what???" But who knows...if a stupid person like you takes out a payday loan then I guess anything's possible?
Good luck to all!- Caller: Spellman and Roman
