from Teleperformance making calls on behalf on Roger's , checkting to see if you are happy with their surface.  Discovered who called by dialing their 877 number, they say you can remove your number by leaving a detailed message, etc.

I’ve been receiving calls from this number for several weeks. I’ve never answered one until a couple of days ago (Aug. 17/11) when my cell phone rang while I was out on the street. I recognized the number and decided to find out what they want. After answering, I waited for more than a minute, and there was no one on the line. This was around 7:30PM. I called the number back and was greeted with almost 2 minutes worth of PR stuff in both English and French. Once that was over, I got a beep, and left them a message asking them to stop calling my number. I have worked on IVR systems and can’t believe that any company would make you listen to long messages in both English and French before getting to the point. Any sensible system asks you for your language choice right at the beginning. I have also gone after Rogers about this because my contact preferences with Rogers are no contact, except by email. The lame explanation I got was that they can’t do anything about it because my contact preferences are for Rogers internal use and not a third party company. I was totally flabbergasted by that response and told the person that he was making excuses and that his answer made no sense. Why can a company like Rogers farm out my contact information to a third party and accept no responsibility for what happens afterwards? I also told the Rogers guy that, if they don’t do something about it, I will be a FORMER Rogers customer. My comment wasn’t even acknowledged other than to say the usual predictable stuff about how I’m a valued customer, blah, blah. It was similar to waiting on one of their phone lines forever while being assured that “Your call is important to us”. I might actually follow through on my threat to leave Rogers, which gets a lot of money from me every month. Bell is doing some very interesting things these days with Fibe TV. As far as internet and wireless services go, there’s really no difference between the big providers. Of course, they all claim to have the fastest and most reliable everything, but what else is new?

Just an update to my previous message. Asking them to remove me from their call list had no effect. They are still calling almost every day.

They called again... Third time today.  I have recorded their "song"... The one they have on all their commercials.  The guy was confused and just said "Thank you for choosing Rogers" and then he hung up.

I answered and they hung up almost immediately. I can confirm the number is a Rogers call center trying to get you to stay with them. They call me once every few weeks.

Caller identified herself as being from Rogers.  When I asked to speak to her supervisor, the supervisor identified the company as being Teleperformance Canada, with a phone number of 877-633-1495.  This has happenend before and my marketing permissions were all set online to "Do Not Call on the Rogers website.  When I called a Rogers representative, they were unable to tell me what my marketing permissions were set to.  They promised to set them to Do Not Call.  Note if you call Rogers, ask for your "interaction number" to escalate your complaint.

They were calling me three times a day.

I finally picked up and literally could hardly understand the person. I said if I had any issues with Rogers, I would contact Rogers directly, and to please stop calling. She kept asking when would be a good time to call, and I said "never"!

Wouldn't you know it, they started calling again this morning, on a weekend. I blocked the number.

My marketing permissions are set to DNC. It doesn't make ANY difference.

After asking them not to call, and then blocking this number on my cell phone, they started calling my home phone. I can't believe anyone does business this way!
